December 13, 201311 yr I stopped reading when they claimed barbeque was overrated. **Vegan alert** **Vegan alert** **alert** **alert** (I'm kidding, no need to hate on me, vegans! ) I do love me some butterscotch. I didn't realize it was trendy again. I just remember eating it on ice cream with my grandfather as a kid.

December 26, 201311 yr The term "barbeque" has a vastly different meaning here in Ohio than it does in Texas or pretty much anywhere down south. I learned that the hard way shortly after moving down south when I was told we were getting "barbeque" for dinner and didn't see one grille when I showed up....... just a large white bucket filled with slop and a bunch of hamburger buns.
December 26, 201311 yr The article does a good job following the two main rules for any over/underrated list: 1. Rail on anything that is currently popular. 2. Tell me how awesome something is that I and nobody else gives a shit about. Barbecue overrated? Brunch overrated? How can an entire meal type be overrated? Brunch is popular because the "upwardly mobile" (from the article) are probably out drinking the night before and want breakfast when they get up at noon.
