^^It looks like the wings of the depot are demolished in your photo. Could that be the case?

Dunno, could be, looks like there's a barricade down there.

Springfield still has a ton of great architecture--particularily in their residential historic districts--but it is incredible how much they lost downtown.

They didn't "lose" anything. They destroyed it.

Wow, what a concept! I never really cared for what Springfield did with the core block they did redevelop, but things turned out better than this 1971 proposal.

Would this have been before or after Upper Valley Mall opened?

Woolworths at the NW corner of Limestone & High during the great demolition.

Wow. How sad. Woolworth built a number of buildings with the same Art Deco design around the country.

That's what I thought ALL Woolworths looked like. Now, in Cincinnati, I'm finding out they had all sorts of smaller storefronts.

I think I stole Jimi Hendrix' Band of Gypsies album from this store.

Nice old school shots!

You were probably wondering about the connection between Buffalo Bill & Springfield's Champion mortuary supply company...

The Snyder Park arch is a beauty. Reminds me of arches in Europe.
