I had to go to the Clermont County Building Department last month for work and decided to take a detour into Batavia for some photos. Main Street is currently torn up as the city is burying the power lines through downtown, so it isn't picturesque right now. Batavia is the county seat of Clermont County and has a population of ~1,600.

Good for them to have the sense to bury utilities like is supposed to be done in the First World but so often doesn't get done in this country.

Nice! I recently went hiking out in Adams County and made a point to swing through as many of the small towns along the way as possible.  Batavia was a pleasant surprise!

I do not know if I like the idea of a center median on a two lane street, but glad to see the streetscape improvements.

its got a big main st for the population. nice one too.
