Posted January 12, 201411 yr Hey everyone, I'm looking for stores that might sell old speakers, turntables, LPs etc. Goodwill, Salvation Army, Pawn Shops come to mind. Im looking to find a good quality set of speakers and turntable/receiver and I need to restart the Vinyl collection. Thanks for any input.
January 12, 201411 yr FerrariEnzo, I may have what you're looking for. My father recently passed away and left a very high quality Technics turntable, extra tone arm cartridge and speakers. He also left a large collection of classical and opera music records and CDs (about 1,000 of each) if you or anyone is interested. Please e-mail me at [email protected] or just send me a PM. January 13, 201411 yr The good quality vintage stuff isn't going to be in Goodwill or Pawn Shops anymore. I have a friend who is into audiophile quality analogue/tube stuff (not all vintage, but some is) and he swears by AudioCraft on Carnegie. He also gets a lot on ebay, as much of this stuff is passed between enthusiasts and collectors these days.
January 14, 201411 yr Watch out for that rabbit hole. The Craigslist of audio equipment is AUDIOGON. Other than that, the For Sale forums in various audiophile sites. You want used, but from people that took care of it and have it be comprised of known models. There are deals out there, just takes a little digging.
