teotihuacan is the famous aztec pyramid city site outside of mex city in a northern suburb

and beside its bloody religious history it was also the greatest city on earth in its day

something most tour groups never see -- you have to walk around the feathered serpent pyramid

there is still paint on one section - the pyramids were magnificently colorful in their time

*** i hope you enjoyed a morning tour of the most well known of the mex city pyramid sites ***

How long did it take to get there from the DF? I got so many different projections, and I wanted to go on my last day, but needed to be at the airport by 6pm so I decided not to go. Heard anything from 45 minutes to 4 hours with traffic. Went to the Basilica de Santa Maria de Guadalupe instead.

^ yeah i went to the basilica too and on a sunday morning -- it was fantastic -- stay tuned for more mex city threads.

it took an hour from the bus station (or about the same from indio verdes station). and before that it took about the same for me to get to the bus station via the metro (two transfers). that is, if you go early in the morning to get there by 8 or 9am. the tour busses show up around 10am, so best to get there between 8-10am to beat them because those groups really clog it all up.

also -- last bus back leaves at 6pm. you can flag one down outside the north entrance (pyramid of the moon) just across the street.

btw these threads are from last week.

Nice.
