Posted February 13, 200619 yr what a nice surprise to see in the peedee. i love this. it really turned out as a great idea and as a regional unity builder: http://www.cleveland.com/images/hp/150/pray0213.jpg 10,000 pray for Cleveland Monday, February 13, 2006 David Briggs Plain Dealer Religion Reporter No Billy Graham. No T.D. Jakes. No Morris Cerullo, Eddie Long or Joel Osteen. And still multitudes of Northeast Ohio Christians came to The Q Sunday night in a spirited revival service for the soul of the city. Forswearing the pre-packaged appeal of big-name evangelists or recording artists, some 10,000 people from more than 100 churches across several denominational lines transformed the basketball arena into a massive cathedral dedicated to lifting up the ills of the region to God. link: http://www.cleveland.com/religion/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/living/113982349599290.xml&coll=2
February 13, 200619 yr The only thing I can think of is the old saying "Pray to God, but keep rowing."
February 14, 200619 yr If the Cavs don't win the NBA title this year, then praisefest was a fraud.

February 15, 200619 yr Why were some of the news channels making a big deal out of Frank Jackson attending? WEWS and ACTION were whining because he wouldn't comment on the whole ordeal. Were things said that some would deem offensive, or are the news channels crapier and more desperate than ever for stories? I go with the latter. I think this is a good thing for the city. I would never have interest in participating, but it's important for people that want to do good for their city to see that there are thousands of others that feel the same way.
February 15, 200619 yr ACTION news usually likes to stir things up IMO. But whenever I'm back home in Ohio I usually watch them anyway!
February 15, 200619 yr ^ I detest Action 19 News... I just can't stand the way they like to report the news. It drives me crazy how loosely they like to use the term "thugs" and "punks". Just seems so phony. Back on topic.... Great to see some many different churches and donominations of churches coming together for one big praise session. Wish I could've been there.
February 15, 200619 yr ^ i agree with comments on Action News as well, they drop "punks" a lot..but they are "everywhere." But I do like the focus on downtown. Their 3 lead stories almost always have to do with what is going on downtown, whereas 3 and 5 seem to focus more on suburb action.
