First, a little about my company, I own a tech company out of Strongsville which repairs phones, tablets, and computers. We also manufacture some of our own parts and ship them worldwide.

What we are looking for:

Street level retail with great visibility to pedestrians, traffic, residents and local businesses. 2000 - 3500 sqft.

We will use about 700-1000 sqft for retail space for customers to drop off and pick up their devices (computers, tablets, phones) as well using some of that space to display products and accessories.

about 500-700 for manufacturing and workspace for repairs and about 800-1200 sqft for offices.

Location is more important that size and we are flexible on size for the right space.

We are currently looking at the space between the state and palace theater on Euclid and the old nova bar and grill on w6th, which is next to the liquor store.

Please let me know if you guys know of any spaces that would fit my needs, I would appreciate it and would love to help bring some more retail downtown.

Have you considered anything between East 18th and East 21st on Euclid?  You'd have a shot at getting all the business from CSU students.  Not a day goes by that I don't have someone asking me where they can get their laptop fixed.

Im looking to hit more of the downtown crowd that comes in from the suburbs. We will be advertising and will be hitting csu. Those students could make the trip easily.

We originally were going to take the old third federal space on Euclid and 4th, which is part of the Arcade, but at the last minute the owners decided to hold that spot for some type of restaurant. That was my ideal location.

We also do service contracts, so having a good downtown presence in the business community is very important to us.

You should look in Detroit Shoreway for space, otherwise many spaces on West 6th are wide open for what you're looking for, at reasonable rents

Plenty of space in the Galleria.. I think that would be a good environment. Only other thing to consider would be close to a coffee or book shop. I would think both of those businesses would be complementary.

I think the Playhouse Square space you mentioned would be close to both the general downtown crowd *and* the student population at CSU. You're going to need steady foot traffic and high visibility, right? I can think of spots in my neighborhood (Tremont) but I can't suggest them because I know the traffic flow just isn't there.

^Playhouse Square is so red hot right now...  whatever space you can find is overpriced.  Lots of good local brokerage firms to work with.  PM me to get some info on local tenant reps who can advise you on rents & locations for what you're needs are

If it's not too much to ask - if you're offering or referring professional services in response to a forumer's post like this, it's best to also provide a "in full disclosure, I own/represent/work for ______". This forum gets a lot of viewers who may not post but they definitely respond to someone providing their credentials and/or qualifications. It's the same thing the Admins/Mods request in threads for residential and rental referrals. And just a friendly and sincere suggestion - fix the "you're needs are"  :-)

I'm sure you have a solid business plan, just seems odd to target suburbanites. I wouldn't think there would be that big of a demand that they would drive to downtown, find parking, and walk to your shop for what you are offering.

^ Probably a lot of workers that are downtown already that would stop on their lunch break.

I'm sure people can just drop off their computers before or after work or maybe during their lunch time. Didnt see the post above mine but same idea. Silly page didnt refresh.

MayDay ---- no problem.

I am co owner of the company and we have been in business for a little over a year now.

Actually the rent quote we received for playhouse square wasn't out of this world.

I am not trying to get people from the  suburbs to come downtown just for my services, I want to get the people from the suburbs that come downtown every day for work to stop by.

I feel like tower city would make sense.

FYI there is a place in the 5th St Arcades that seems to do similar work.  I haven't seen any advertising or the like from them, but their space does note that they do cell phone, laptop, and computer repair work.

Granted with your light manufacturing there is another revenue stream, and they are not on the street (or in the busier part of 5st Arcades) but I cannot imagine the market is that robust for this type of service to need two stores within DT.

2020 Euclid Ave is now available.  The Barnes & Noble is closing.  It's a lot bigger than you mentioned, but its recently refurbished space.

I didn't realize that was a Barnes & Noble. I always saw the "university lofts bookstore" sign and just thought it was a CSU bookstore.

^It's a Barnes & Noble College store.  They also run the store at CWRU and the Tri-C campuses.  Barnes & Noble has not been directly affiliated with CSU since 2006.

yeah, that's a nice space but not really the location we want. I don't want something on the CSU campus. It will be easier to market to the entire CSU campus then to market to the entire downtown business population. I would rather have a great street presence to make my marketing job much easier.

how about the may company building along Prospect or Ontario.  I know they are parcelling off storefronts now for pretty cheap.  Great exposure that will only get better
