April 17, 201411 yr This will hopefully encourage Oakley Station to be more walker friendly. Getting to Oakley Station from these apartments will be very easy by the pedestrian bridge, but people will only walk there if Oakley Station feels inviting to pedestrians. Right now, Oakley Station looks like a traditional suburban sea of parking... And walking to Kroger or Cinemark will feel like a very long walk across that huge parking lot. 272 apartments is almost as big as The Boulevard at Oakley Station, so effectively it doubles the residential size... So maybe this increased population within walking distance will push Oakley Station to rethink all that surface parking, and build out more along the streets throughout Oakley Station. Regardless of what Oakley Station does, this new apartment complex should be really good for businesses along Madison and in Oakley square.
