Before the $150 million Kalahari Resort opened in May 2005, local officials working on making the project happen were excited about the revenue possibilities. Now, their projected excitement is coming to fruition as revenues ranging from sales to bed taxes are quite healthy. County Auditor Thomas Paul said he has recently addressed how bed tax revenues can be reported, and had figures available for what was turned in for 2006.
