Per my previous post about my stupid camera question...

 

Any recommendations to replace a Canon Powershot s2 is ?

I'm fine with the camera's functions but it's not functioning & the lens cap FLIES off the thing. I have to wrap it in rubber bands when I take it out to keep the lens cap on.

I do not want another Canon. Thinking $250-350.

What is the primary need for having the camera? What type of features are important? Must have features?

One thing I wanted was an intervalometer & while the cheaper cameras don't accommodate them there is a software hack for Canons called CHDK that has that feature as well as support for RAW on the Powershot series. The Lens caps appear to actually latch onto the cameras nowadays so I think I'm going to go that route.
