In an emergency council meeting Thursday night, Apple Creek council voted unanimously to purchase the property formerly run by the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities and known most commonly as ACDC. The property is to be purchased by both the village and East Union Township for $420,000 and costs are to be evenly shared. The village and township, in a joint agreement, will lease the property from the state beginning Oct. 1 for $1. The lease will continue for up to one year, or until the transaction clears legislators and Gov.
