What are some good bars at which to watch the World Cup matches?

The PD lists a few:

but I am hoping there are other places as well. For example, no Lakewood bars on the list.

Ideally, we could put together a good list here.

Well the .com comments were...helpful.....I guess there's a first time for everything!

Merry Arts Pub and Grille in Lakewood (on Detroit Ave.) is the official watch party of the World Cup for the Cleveland Outlaws. All are welcomed and no membership is required. If you're looking to watch the games with respectful, passionate, and knowledgeable people, Merry Arts is the place for you. Come out and cheer on our country with us!

Merry Arts is pretty great. Friendly service, good views of t.v.'s. The Grafton on Madison would've been the Lakewood soccer spot (R.I.P. Grafton and curse you whatever stupid cheese bar took over that space).

Parnell's and Olde Angle are two places I've had some great World Cup fun. They'll get crazy.

It seems like The Old Angle on W. 25/Ohio City is one of the hotter spots for futbol in the City.  They pack 'em in for regular soccer matches; I can't imagine what it'll be like for the World Cup (btw, they've got the best Irish Stew in town imho)... During the last World Cup, most of the downtown bars were carrying it and were drawing fans; for the final match, all were jammed... and passionate.

Agreed. And the way the windows open up onto the street...such a great atmosphere!

The Angle was kicking it today for the Opening Match (Brazil vs Croatia) - Good Times!

Nice crowd, though I thought it would have been more packed. Thanks for the photos.

It was packed, these pics were taken during the opening ceremony (a good 30 minutes before the first match) - By match time, the crowd doubled.

Well, in Cleveland a Croatia match would be a big huge deal in any case.

I had to correct Petkovic for getting the address of the Old Angle wrong.  I "owed" him for only mentioning Gee's as a place he got yelled at for smoking.

Hey everyone, so other than Olde Angle and Merry Arts, what might be some other good places to watch the USA game tomorrow?  I'm looking for a nice crowd, but I imagine that those places will be overwhelmingly packed.  Any ideas?

The USA game?  Anywhere that's a decent sports bar will have it.

Do you have a preference for east/west/downtown?

I saw the last U.S. game at Deagans in Lakewood and the crowd was small but lively. On the other hand, at Merry Arts you couldn't even get through the door!

Yeah that description of Merry Arts is exactly what I want to avoid.  Same likely goes for Olde Angle.  I'm looking for something either downtown or towards the eastern suburbs.  Parnell's has been mentioned as a possibility, but my buddy and his girlfriend are looking for something that has food (not just nibbles).

deleted (it would help if I read the entire thread first)

hmm. Id suggest winks on e9th or winking lizaard on prospect. Its bar food of course but theyve got a variety. Tues is wing nite. Tons of tvs so there wont be a bad seat.
