after all these years of forum meets, you're finally going to change the infamous mayday starting spot? (with exception to bridge tours).

Whats gotten into you man?

That's six days after I get back from visiting five European countries in 16 days. I hope to still have my accent from England -- and my tan -- to show off.

Here's a thought:  Would anyone be interested in gathering in my building's party room (next to the indoor pool!) that evening and watch some video of my travels?

June 2nd sounds good to me.  We'll bring little party hats, a cake, and candles for you, Pope.  We can wear the hats as we explore Cleveland- perhaps this year would be good for a tour of Central or Glenville!

Tour of Central?  I'm pretty familiar with the neighborhood, I suppose. ;)

I'm more than happy to give a full, comprehensive tour.

I can be there.

I can be there.

it will be like cincinnati, but with less hicks.

You should talk, Detroit.

Hey maybe I will finally make it to one of these Cleveland meets.  I better start looking at priceline.com for a hotel or I can crash at KJP's place and watch some of his home movies of cities I visited in April...

yeah I better check on hotels.

Yeah, ya better. There is an inexpensive Day's Inn across the street from my building, right on Clifton. The next block north, between Lake and Edgewater, is a Travelodge. Both are an easy walk to bars and 24-hour restaurants between West 117th and West 115th on Detroit Avenue and Clifton Boulevard. There's bus service on Clifton to downtown, on Detroit to downtown (or the West Blvd Rapid station), or the 804 Circulator to the West 117th Rapid station.

Coldayman and Pope, you're too funny!  Anyways, I plan on being there.  My friend from Chicago is driving me home and this will be her first trip to Cleveland!  I talk Cleveland up to everyone here so we have to make sure this tour kicks ass like last years.  With nice weather too!

So where is the starting place?  This time I will ASK when I can't find you guys...

How are we all going to fit on that?!?

So, who's coming?

I will likely be there.

I can't make it to the Day of Service, but I will most likely be there as well.

I will most definitely be there (and as usual, with a hangover)

 Damn!!! i always have something going on...wedding this year...Maybe i'll eventually hit one of these meets.

Me to except its always the weekend before final exams week.  :-P

Wow..perhaps I will take a little time out of my day

I hope it  wont be snowing.

Now can any tell me what is this meeting about,

Are we going to carry torches and axes and march on city hall and demand changes.

we're usually quite good about accommodating everything.

Okay I was thinking about going, but gas prices ruined it all, and the drive for me is 4 hours or something from where I live.

Okay, maybe this is elsewhere in the thread and I missed it, but what time does the meet start?

10:30

I'll be there.

Welcome back KJP.

Looks like I'm going to have to cancel.

in reality, as long as you want.

The meets have always been "stay as long as you want, leave as early as you need". There's no "required" time, so if you can only show up for a drink at Great Lakes, that's okay.

Btw, who (of those who are going) have taken photos or checked out the Detroit Superior Bridge since they've replaced sections of the ugly fencing with stuff you can actually see through? More to the point, would anyone be interested in checking that out?

I'm game.

i want to be carried around on one of those Cleopatra dealies.

You know, where the four slaves carry me around?

How about a wheelbarrow, instead? We can put a pillow in it, if that helps.

I'm usually downtown on Saturday afternoons anyway, so I'm game.  This'll be my first meet.

One question-- will those of us who are car-less (*cough* me...) be any burden?

Nope

That's f-ing hilarious!

will try to make the meet...but if not...what time and where is everyone meeting for drinks?

I suspect MayDay will want to go to Great Lakes Brewing Co. If so, we'll probably be there at about noon-ish. Maybe as late as 1 p.m.

The city is going to be very busy today, especially this evening, what with the Indians and Cavs playing at roughly the same time. There will probably be lots of national media in town, too, after what Lebron did the other night!
