September 27, 2024Sep 27 From their newsletter today: Quote In 2024, we're looking forward to new segments of the CROWN being constructed. Wasson Way will be extended into Xavier Univeristy’s campus going from Montgomery Road to Station Way. While this is a small segment, it will lead up to the site of Xavier’s forthcoming College of Osteopathic Medicine building. The final alignment of Wasson Way will extend from Station Way to Dana Avenue after the Medical college building is complete. This segment will also include important safety enhancements with new signalized crossings at Montgomery Road and Dana Avenue at Idlewild Avenue. Farther east, the Village of Mariemont will advance another 0.2-mile segment of trail from the Mariemont Library to Miami Avenue. The CROWN will help fund the match for the grant the Village has been awarded by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Ohio Department of Transportation is conducting a feasibility study for a possible extension of Wasson Way from Ault Park to Armleder Park. This extension would make it possible to connect from Wasson Way to the Little Miami Scenic Trail. Stay tuned for our next Newsletter – we’ll let you know the details of a public meeting on the Wasson Way to Armleder connection that will take place later this year. This is a priority project that will be done in collaboration with the City of Cincinnati and the Ohio Department of Transportation. I previously posted about the Montgomery crossing over in the main bike thread: On 8/24/2024 at 6:00 PM, Dev said: On the city' procurement website, the Montgomery crossing is not out to bid:

The project, which currently is estimated at $18.6 million, would connect two major Cincinnati parks and create another planned link between two of its major bicycle and pedestrian paths – Wasson Way and the Little Miami Scenic Trail. Great Parks has its own plans to link the Murray Path, which connects to Wasson Way in the Red Bank Road corridor, to the Little Miami Trail. MORE
