Probably most of them don't, at least for these single family home developments. Or they may be required within the development itself, but where the development connects to major roadways the sidewalks also end. My parents live in a newer development in Newark and it's funny to drive through there and see all the random pieces of sidewalks that don't connect to anything because they aren't required to build them until a house gets built on the lot.

The manufacturing facility in Grove City began its glove production in November 2022 and the company is now making 3 million nitrile gloves per day. You wouldn't like Southern California then The Land of No Basements begins much closer than that. Years ago now, my wife was looking to switch jobs and almost landed one in Nashville, so we were looking at houses down there. No basements anywhere. Maybe a water table level issue or something. Certainly isn't earthquakes in Tennessee. In Ohio, we found a few condo-townhome developments that had no basements when we were looking, back in 2012-2013, but pretty much every house we looked at had a basement, and I'm with @VintageLife--that's a dealbreaker if it's not there.
March 29, 20232 yr 16 minutes ago, Gramarye said: No basements anywhere. Maybe a water table level issue or something. Certainly isn't earthquakes in Tennessee. Correct, the super-hard rock precludes the digging of basements in most areas. Here is downtown rock - conditions similar to this exist well out into the suburbs: https://www.google.com/maps/@36.1579516,-86.790794,3a,75y,83.32h,96.46t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s2DIcWAJBqe_ZzHs7JobylQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 HOWEVER, a homes built on slopes do often have walk-out basements. There is an underground garage in DT Nashville that is basically an above-ground garage, just underground. It looks like they dynamited down 30-40 feet from the surface, then built an above-ground garage on the floor. The rock is completely exposed around the sides of each level.

You should see the sidewalk situation in the original 1800s part of Groveport. Some streets have a sidewalk on both sides. Some streets only have a sidewalk on one side. Some streets have no sidewalk. Some streets have a sidewalk until a certain point and then the sidewalk disappears. When you go for a walk you never know what you are going to get.

June 16, 2024Jun 16 From Horses to Homes: The Reinvention of Beulah Park Grove City’s Beulah Park was once synonymous with the sound of galloping horses as people watched the racetrack with bated breath. It was a crowded source of money changing hands and entertainment. Frank Sinatra even visited. Eventually, the crowds moved on, the cheering quieted, and the site became dilapidated. Today, it’s found new life as the site of a nearly complete 220-acre development known as Beulah Park, which features approximately 1,000 homes and apartments, commercial space, and a 32-acre park. It’s located near the intersection of Beulah Way and Columbus Street.
