While not the same location, the Walnut scenes look completely sterlized.

Worse than that, they look empty.  Maybe it's due to the time of day, and there are certainly people walking and driving in that new shot, but the street was absolutely bustling in that old one.

^^ That's the shot I was inspired by. That photo was taken from a skywalk that no longer exists over Vine, right?

Pretty sure the older one is not of Walnut, but of Vine.

 

Again, it's impossible to know without the circumstances of the time of day, etc.  If you took a shot looking north on Walnut at 8:30 on a Tuesday morning it would be full of traffic and people.

I wanted to get a shot of Walnut before streetcar construction began. Should make for a cool before & after.

Love the Density and East Coast style architecture that parts of Cincinnati has, wish that style was throughout Cleveland.
