Posted August 5, 201410 yr Hey, I just wanted to offer any UOer or UOan a friendly voice of a local when anyone visits New Orleans. Living in tourist town can make it tough to spend the day with visitors every time someone I know comes down, because that is nearly every weekend. (AND, I'm not offering to shelter y'all) But, if you wanted to visit the crescent city, I can offer: -Advice on where to stay -What to do, what to see, and what not to waste your time doing -Meet you up for a drink to chat about your trip and all things UO! I hope people take me up on it, and other members offer the same things for their current cities of residence.
August 5, 201410 yr I definitely need to get to New Orleans someday soon, so I may take you up on it!

I could have used that when I went to NOLA a few years ago. My experience was very ~meh~ Seems like every Tom, Dick & Harry wants to set up a fly by night crap restaurant to fleece ourists for a couple years & then move on.
August 5, 201410 yr I don't recommend staying on Bourbon street for more than two hours, and restaurants are definitely hit or miss in the quarter
