Posted August 5, 201410 yr A few shots from my first visit to Cincinnati earlier this year, more can be found at http://www.flickr.com/eridony/. What a wonderful city! I can't wait to go back and explore more areas. On this trip I only saw parts of downtown, Over-The-Rhine, West End, and University of Cincinnati. I also visited Covington and Newport and have already posted photo threads on those two places. My first shots of the city were taken from the Kentucky side. Crossing into the city I guess I missed the singing City Hall YMCA Balloonopus Over-the-Rhine Music Hall Race Street Survivor Future Streetcar Stop Memorial Hall Turret Lofts Hall of Justice Casino Theater William Betts House Random find Dunnhumby Centre Over-the-Rhine Carew Tower P&G Future Carousel Schneider Quad at University of Cincinnati Tangeman University Center McMicken Hall Hughes High School Dieterle Vocal Arts Center
August 5, 201410 yr fortunately we will be getting rid of these eyesores I like that corner building. It just needs to be cleaned up.
August 5, 201410 yr fortunately we will be getting rid of these eyesores I like that corner building. It just needs to be cleaned up. I believe Quimbob[/member] was being sarcastic with that comment. It's a beautiful building that the current owner wants to tear down to make a quick buck from a developer who wants to build generic, prefurnished, poorly managed "student" housing (they aren't legally allowed to restrict it to students, but will anyway). Awesome photo set, though, Eridony[/member]

Since it's you first tour of Porktown, you probably aren't aware of the cool old mansion a few doors down that is gone, Lenhardt's. yeah, that whole corner is going to be redeveloped as something fairly meh

I saw the massive "meh" building across the street from this. If they tear down these buildings it looks like very little of the old business district will remain.
August 6, 201410 yr Awesome shots! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
August 7, 201410 yr Thanks for the feedback everyone! Stunning photos. I look forward to your first visit to Cleveland. :-) I've already made that visit back in June, but like Cincinnati is takes me some time to get around to posting the shots. I'll definitely be creating a photo thread for that city when the time comes.
August 7, 201410 yr Nippert Stadium is so cool, and I think one of the best football stadiums in the country due its urbanity and location.
August 8, 201410 yr great job and you had beautiful weather wow. fortunately we will be getting rid of these eyesores I like that corner building. It just needs to be cleaned up. August 8, 201410 yr Very cool! Really enjoyed the photos ... What brought you to Cincy? My love of cities is really the only reason. I moved to Ohio last summer for a job but I spent so much time at work I did very little else. This year I am working less (although still a lot) and have been exploring and photographing on my time off. I've made it to around 30 Ohio counties this year. Places like Cincinnati require multiple trips to get to really know, so I'll definitely be back.
