June 20, 20159 yr All of those are good, but it never ceases to amaze how the Devou Park angle (1) presents the most impressive view of downtown, and (2) seems to be immune to ever having a bad picture taken.
June 22, 20159 yr Author I took this photo as rain clouds began to roll over OTR, and minutes later I got caught in the downpour.

June 28, 20159 yr Scripps has never looked any better. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
June 29, 20159 yr I used to find the West Side view of Cincinnati lacking but with the convention center sign, it makes it a pretty cool view.
August 3, 20159 yr I love what they did with the Scripps Center. That's great. Is the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Man the same as Proctor & Gamble's Pringles Man?

August 24, 20159 yr Badonka-donk. That shot has incredible depth. With the residential towers all way over in WH making an appearance.
August 27, 20159 yr aww great job with that unusual view - ive wondered about from glimpses while driving.
August 27, 20159 yr Glad those rail cars are carrying something other than soldiers being shipped off to a war. Nice pic.
September 11, 20159 yr Author Travis - have you been to the Top of the Park yet (on the roof of the Residence Inn at Lytle Park)? I'd love to see some of your photos from there, because it has great views of downtown, the River, and Mt Adams. I haven't been there yet, but it's on my list! I also will admit (shamefully, as a life-long Cincinnatian) that I have never been to the Carew Tower observation deck. I finally made it to the top of the Carew! Full gallery here!
September 11, 20159 yr What about the top of Mulholland Drive! :x "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
November 9, 20159 yr Great picture, Travis. 8th Street is seriously gorgeous, and has great potential. Once the new apartment building is built at 8 and Sycamore, that'll really help connect everything and give it a more "canyon"-like feel.
November 9, 20159 yr ^^^That approach into downtown would be a heck of a view from here: https://cincinnatiideas.wordpress.com/mt-adams-gondola/ www.cincinnatiideas.com

January 26, 20169 yr Some wild photos from the 1937 flood: http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/history/2016/01/26/date-1937-flood-crests-799-feet/79301880/ I particularly like this one with the caption below: This aerial photograph taken above the Kentucky shore in 1937 shows the flood waters lapping at the Suspension Bridge, which was the only unflooded link from Pittsburgh to Cairo, Illinois.
January 29, 20169 yr ^Wow, the Ohio River looks crazy high there. It looks like it's about to take out the Roebling Bridge!
March 5, 20169 yr Author Just happened to have my camera with me at my office during this awesome sunset.
March 6, 20169 yr Stunning. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
March 6, 20169 yr Cincinnati skyline is so weird. When you look across from the river it looks relatively small, but when you look from Devou Park it looks huge. Same goes with this perspective, it looks like your entering a pretty large city, when in reality it's a pretty small city.
March 6, 20169 yr Columbus is the same way. If you use 71 north through the split then take 70 east you'd think the city is tiny and unimportant.
March 7, 20169 yr That skyline shot, Travis is probably one of my angles (from the Horseshoe casino or coming SB on 71 or Reading). I'm really surprised we don't see more of it.
March 25, 20169 yr Now I'm hungry. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
March 25, 20169 yr If I didn't know any better, I would have guessed that picture was taken in Philadelphia or New York
March 25, 20169 yr If I didn't know any better, I would have guessed that picture was taken in Philadelphia or New York Maybe at 4 am. Nice pic. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
