I had a nice loft, one bedroom apartment for $550 until last summer when I bought my house. It rents for $1300 a month now! Avoid Urban Sites and you can probably find something closer to your price range. A friend I know just snagged one for $600 that was a Craigslist find.

I know as soon as I move out, Urban Sites will jack my unit's rent up, but they have been very good to me about keeping my rent fairly stable even though I'm month-to-month right now. I've had no problems with them.

I've decided to create this thread for people looking for apartments in the Cincinnati Area (Northern Kentucky, too).

$500-600?? Maybe try Over the Rhine Community Housing.

I've heard those prices in Northside.

you can find some decent stuff in that range in Walnut Hills.

maybe CUF?

OTR near

:-)

They're out there, it seems you need to be quick! Mercer Commons seems to be all out with one - one BR around $950+ ...

I would try Brighton area.  It's like OTR 5 years ago.  Or maybe Mcmicken at Ravine.  WIth the new protected bike lanes it feels way more connected to downtown & OTR than it did just a few months ago.

Brighton - maybe there's some vacancies in the German Bank building

There's some cheap places being sold by the county

They don't guarantee the title, though.

Your large portfolio of hipster polo's would be too overwhelming.

I could buy 3 more per month with that rent.

I will (once again) plug my OTR Apartments Twitter account, which tweets anytime someone lists a new apartment on Craig's List:

Awesome! Thank you so much. :) I'm looking for an OTR apartment for November 1. I'm in Covington now in Roebling Row and cannot wait to get away from Towne Properties. Ugh.

Be prepared to place a deposit before looking at a place. They usually go within a couple days.

If you look at Pendleton, Prospect Hills, or Mulberry Hill you might find it a little easier to make an informed decision.
