Let there be light!!! 💡 🌃   It looks like they’re starting to install / test some of the new uplighting on the building! This transformation is going to be incredible and help liven up Publi

But did Ken write an article about it?

Ha ha, the curse of a post at the bottom of a thread page.

When is the last time I-71 turned a profit?

^ oh thanks. i like lighting up the church, that will be very striking and nice. maybe they can make several versions, like seasonal themes.

a mural for the wall is fine too. of course another new building would be better, but until then ...

Best thing to come put of that link is the comment by the millennial spokesman saying that downtown leasing has really picked up. That's the first time l heard that.

Maybe it's too early to know, or maybe I just missed it, but does anyone know what is planned for the ground floor of this building? It would be a fantastic location for a restaurant/cafe or other public amenity.

@mack34mentioned that downtown leasing has really jumped in recent months at the Lumen, rising to 85 percent. The leasing firm is EXTREMELY pleased....

Does this mean we may see Lumen #2 in the near future?

No, but we may see something else.

Can't or my source will never talk to me again. Wait for the TMUD applications to come out.

Man, I just don't know who these developers hire that create these tired interior spaces. K&D is certainly the worst, but this doesn't look much better.

You know it’s not finished, right? 😉

I mean, what are we expecting here? To keep these projects affordable, they must be value engineered. Cabinets that can be easily configured and installed are chosen, along with easily installed backsplashes and off-the-shelf appliances. If people want custom kitchens and top-of-the-line finishes, they can buy a condo.

Agree.  hate to see such a unique space treated that way.  K&D makes me cringe the majority of the time.

Those arched windows are killer.

Correction:  Actually, i believe this is  Millennia and not K&D.  K&D is next door.

The windows are awesome!

It would’ve been cool to have a left a few units “open” and just create large modern loft spaces.

Still, great to see this building getting this update - it’ll be a great address to call home.

^ agree, but the more apts the people downtown.

The finishes are still better that Terminal Tower, THAT was a disappointment. This isn’t that bad.

I’ve noticed this too.   Think of it as “Urban builder-grade.”

I'm impressed with how (even in tough times) prideful people are to keep the city moving forward in a positive way.  Of course there will always be ways to improve, but who would have imagined the transformation of Euclid Ave, Public Square, Ohio City, Tremont, University Circle and the recent investments in Hough, Fairfax and Glenville.  I hope the new mayoral leadership can serve as a vital lynchpin to help advance the momentum.

^I'm surprised by the brick.   All the old photos I have seen of the this building (pre-50's modernization) showed a cut stone Beaux Arts facade at the lower level.

^The base looks like brick to me:

^ Interesting.  The 50's modernization must not have been the first.  Here's the view in 1916.

This one^ (directly above).  Pretty nice looking square.  What happened?  😉

Not bad but no Jersey barriers?

FWIW, sometimes those postcards did not depict reality. What's shown could have just been a colorization error.

But also wouldn't be a surprise if the facade changed once early on. We've now seen several historic buildings "restored" to their second facades (Garfield Building; John Hartness Brown; others).

From Today, nothing super new from the outside but brickwork is definitely moving along quickly.

What an improvement!

Leasing is underway, due to no parking being included in the building the target residents are those that work close to the building  (Downtown, OC) or public transportation users.

Tenants get parking in the Key Tower parking garage under Mall A. They also can use Key Tower's fitness center.

Those are words from the property manager. Just relaying the message. If you go to the site it's being advertised as no parking included.

I checked the 75 PSN site and I didn't see parking or fitness center mentioned either. And yet it's in this older promotional piece.....

There will be a fitness center and yoga studio in the basement amongst other amenities.

Also that promotional material is definitely out of date. The name no longer is Public Square North, it's simply 75 Public Square.

They’ve done such a wonderful job bringing this building back. Some great craftsmanship.

What was 75 PS just before this renovation?  Vacant, back offices for Key, something else?

It’s really gotten to the point I can’t keep up with the dizzying amount of development happening, which I consider a good thing.

Don't know about any back office space there but l did know several lawyers who had individual or small shared offices in the building.

The first resident moved in today, interior work is still going on but it's simple cosmetic. We're trying to work with RTA to provide discounted bus passes to residents who are interested. Hopefully they are interested.

RTA has done that before with affordable housing and transitional housing developments.
