January 6, 20223 yr Interesting, where are those balconies located? And that first tiled backsplash....yikes.The balconies are located off the bedroom door to certain apartments.Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk
January 6, 20223 yr ^ I love that black backsplash haha. I'm guessing it's in a common area due to the lack of upper cabinets/appliances

January 8, 20223 yr Author I used many of the same pics.... Renovated 75 Public Square ready for residents By Ken Prendergast / January 7, 2022 The 107-year-old 75 Public Square building began its third life two days before the end of 2021. In the coming weeks and months, as more tenants call it home, the building will become more lively and be “illuminated” once again. Two Cleveland-area companies helped this Classical Revival example of architecture get its third wind. January 8, 20223 yr Author They called it 75 Public Square North in the press release. And most of that article was from the press release. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
January 8, 20223 yr A minor point-or maybe not-I assume the red brick curb skirting will be installed in front of the building replacing the newly poured concrete sidewalk when the weather gets better, similar to the process in front of the Euclid Grand.

January 12, 20223 yr How beautiful. Does anyone know what is on those top 2 floors? Are those some large penthouse apartments or what?
January 12, 20223 yr Author According to the building plans filed with the city, the top two floors with windows are floors 13 and 14. Floors 10-14 have identical floorplans, and each floor has eight apartments (see below). BTW, the 15th floor has no windows and appears to be a shorter floor, which was common in buildings of that era. The perimeter of that floor is all mechanicals and storage. The interior of the 15th floor is stairwells, elevators, a bathroom and kitchenette. There is access to a rooftop patio as well. Love the restoration work done at 75 PS and at other gems around the city in recent years. Randy Newman once sang jokingly, “Cleveland, city of lights, city of magic” but seeing that beautiful building lit up - IMHO, we got a right to feel pretty proud of this town right about now. And the shiny new tower coming next door - it’s only going to take the diverse PS neighborhood to a beautiful next level. .
January 14, 20223 yr wow what a fantastic rehab -- its very handsome again -- The building was originally built (in 1914) as the headquarters for the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, where it stayed until 1958, when it moved across the street to 55 Public Square, according to Case Western Reserve University’s Encyclopedia of Cleveland History.

May 21, 20223 yr Continuing the tradition of converting obsolete office space into residential. I especially like that it's not another K&D building. We need a little competition downtown.
