I forgot to post these photos but when I saw how many I had, I thought I should make a new thread!  I took a tour of the entire complex about 2-3 weeks ago.  It is really amazing what they were able to do and I was amazed at how large the facility is once you are inside.  Enjoy

Upstairs on the second level is the Ledger Bar and the Adega private dining space.  The elevators in The 9 are pretty cool... you select your floor from the touch screens on the wall and then are directed to a specific elevator.  There are no buttons inside the elevator, it just takes you to where you need to go (which could potentially be problematic I guess, but it defiantely adds to the wow factor)

There is a cool space in the rear of the lobby with a artpiece showing Marcel Breuer, and books of his architecture on the coffee table along with replicas of his chair-designs.  (I would assume replicas)  I didnt get a picture.

Hope you enjoyed the tour!

Damn that looks great!

Thank you!  Are any of the individual vault rooms open to the public or just for private events?

I know they can all be rented for private use but if they aren't being used I would think they're open to the public. There's a lot of them!!

That animal skin rug looks really tacky. Everything else looks great though! Where is this?

wow thanks for the tour. looks great. im just kinda stunned ?

Downtown Cleveland at the corner of East Ninth Street and Euclid Avenue. The 9 consists of the Metropolitan Hotel, apartments, Adega, Azure Lounge, the Vault, Alex Theater, Mint Ballroom etc. and a Heinen's grocery store in the historic rotunda which will open next year

Loving that deck view.

Nice photos.

mrclifton88[/member] why do you feel as the the elevators would be problematic?  Low energy elevators have been around for a while, they are much more efficient, than pressing buttons.

I only say that because I got in one that did not go to the floor it was supposed to and I had no way to correct it without getting out and re-assigning an elevator to the floor I needed. Maybe it was me , not sure. Overall I really like the system.

You have to pay attention to the indicator.  Many hotels have used this system for a while.  The first time I encountered it was in NoLa, many of the hotels there use this system.  I've noticed many renovated and new build buildings that want to be (rated) energy efficient have installed this system.

Nice photos.

Will be interesting to see how they work for drunk hotel revelers.  For people used to working in buildings with them, there is a short learning curve.  I know I've gotten stuck in several buildings in NYC not realizing how the system works.

I think that is the "soft" security system that works.  Most hotels, i've been in, have the magnetic strip you need to swipe or wave before pressing the indicator.  In office buildings you usually have to pass security before enter a select elevator bank.  So for those not staying in the hotel or are drunk it will deter/curb non guest from access to guest floor.

I don't mean that.  I mean paying attention to the one arriving to take you to your floor.  In the ones I've been in, it assigns you a number for the unit that takes you there.  That alone may be a challenge for certain patrons at 3 am on a Saturday morning :)

While I applaud the overall renovation of this complex and millions invested by the project team, I believe the interior design, especially in the main lobby of the Breuer Tower, completely misses the mark, looks cheap, and is incompatible with the original space.  Way too much "stuff" like animal skin rug, the 2 hideous and misplaced chairs near the entry, the light fixtures that speak more to a folksy industrial aesthetic, coffered ceilings, etc.  A more austere approach would have been much more successful in letting the original design come through, even though it's been repurposed for new uses.  Feels like a casino in my opinion.  Just think we could have had better... but it sure beats it being vacant.

Great tour! Great photos!!

Looks great! I love using a lot of red and I love rooftop social areas!

Great photo tour

Yes the Vault is terrific. Ha!

And beats being rubble. The building is  standing and really thats all that matters right now. it can always be re-done. Not going to happen anytime soon.

uggh...I wish the Dollar Bank Bldg was here to mis-decorate

These 2 are to-die-for. I'd have been first in line for these had there been a small chance they were available after demolition (Luckily all that is moot)

This went from being one of the ugliest buildings in Cleveland to one of the hottest properties in downtown. I've been dying to see what the inside looks like, so thanks for the tour. Say, anyone here know Kevin Love? I hear he took the penthouse and I want to hang out there next summer during Indians games.

Nice tour, mrclifton...

I didn't realize there was a theater in there... I only did a quick walk-through of the lobby and the Adega restaurant a week ago and was impressed.  I definitely want to spend significant time there to fully appreciate the quality of this restoration.  The fact that hotel guests are speaking so highly of the place is very encouraging... The ongoing mystery to me is, how the hell could the developers pull this thing together so fast?  ... this is no small project by any means.

i was just reading about the alex theater in the pd this morning, its up and running, and noticed it in your photos. very cool to have diverse stuff like this in the complex.

I hope their elevator control boards can take more than 5 inputs at a time...  I had a pretty bad experience with these frequently crashing due to too many inputs at another hotel!

^ can somebody post a link that shows the type of elevator buttons thingy ma jingy they are using? like maybe the company that makes it or something?

i am familiar with something like it, i think, but not sure.

just curious -- thx

Awesome photos. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait  to get a tour of this place myself.

I love how much more awesome the NCB (pnc) building looks in your shots then what it looks like from street level
