Posted December 22, 201410 yr No, the title is not a result of my having too many Christmas Ales, just referring to the former National City Bank banking hall in the Guardian Building, a trip to the Rock Hall and of course, the 5K/10K for the Christmas Story House Foundation. There might be a few other random shots thrown in :-) Turns out PNC moved their retail branch from the historic Guardian Building to a new spot inside the PNC Center office tower. I managed to get some shots before they closed - didn't have a tripod so apologies for the blurs. It sounds like it may end up being a restaurant? Out for some fresh air and over to MetroHealth hospital. I'm guessing this isn't up to code? :wtf: Hey, there's the first place I lived when I moved to Cleveland proper: Like I said - some random shots thrown in: Back downtown - the weather was making for some interesting lighting: The Guardian Building (aka where the first photos in the thread were taken): Love the details on the Huron Square building: Construction on the Hilton is coming along nicely: Let's pop over to the Warehouse District: The pop up stores at West Sixth and St. Clair: It's possible this view of this iconic building will be blocked in the near future  This view isn't going anywhere though  It's been a while since I've been to the Rock Hall, but family was visiting from out of town and they wanted to go. Glad we did. Janis Joplin's Porsche and a set of Van Halen's equipment: No talking smack about my Madonna :x Yeah, a standard mannequin isn't equipped with Beyonce's curves! The piano John Lennon used to write "Imagine": Who knew - fifty years later, I was on the staff of The Quaker Yep, I watched the debut - who would have thought it would no longer be *the* place for an act to gain notoriety? Again, no talking smack :x Hey! Teacher! And then it's time for the annual 5K/10K charity run for the Christmas Story House - the foundation uses proceeds for home improvement projects on the adjacent blocks. Of course, we start with the major award: The first batch of runners - no costumes, these people are serious runners: Hey, our first costume of the day - Black Bart! First Pink Nightmare of the day! Bonus points for the matching bunny slippers! Soap poisoning! (Told you not to use Life Buoy!) This poor lady had to endure about three hours of yelling "5K, straight ahead, 10K, to your right!" Cute couple's costume! We don't need no stinkin' Olympic torch, we have the 'soft glow of electric sex'! :-D Uh, wrong movie, sir - it's all good. I saw the American flag in the distance and thought '"cool, maybe it's a contingent supporting veterans?" Silly me, it's the Triple Dog Dare! :-D Hope you enjoyed - happy holidays everyone! clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram

December 23, 201410 yr The pop up shops - are those cargo containers? I saw something like this in Louisville - except they were offices. Cute!
December 23, 201410 yr Great stuff! BTW, please note that the place listed at the end of this poster, the Governor Chateau at 3456 West 117th Street, became the original Luchitas! But in the 1970s and 80s, it was a punk rock club.... "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
September 15, 20159 yr After seeing the story on jeff Ruby opening his restaurant in the "heart of downtown Cleveland," is the first set of pictures (Guardian) where he's going?
