They had the stadium lights on last night, and it looks amazing. I can't wait to attend my first game here.

Absolutely awesome!!! The way the lighting is angled gives off such a cool element of design!!  Look at that pitch!!

The Dispatch has a pretty cool write-up on the project to paint the smokestack.

Here's what the finished product will look like. The smokestack will be "activated" in some way during games, but the team is not yet saying how that will work.

And double and triple yes to this!!!!! This is what is separating the new Crew Stadium from TQL and ATX stadium.  I cant wait to see how the outside plaza adds even more of a gameday element.  Soon....

Is there going to be a ticket office window at the new stadium?

When/where can we get single game tickets for the new stadium (not through places like Ticketmaster)?

I'm guessing you will be able to purchase tickets at the ticketing windows. Not sure if they will be staffed on non-game days. You might have to go into the offices or the team shop, will be accessible on non-game days.

I was talking to a representative earlier this week, and he told me to expect single game tickets to go on sale either first or second week of June. Basically just trying to figure out the lifting of covid restrictions and all that.

Nice!  I went through there the other day and they were putting up a "Donatos" sign but that "ticketing" signage wasn't up yet.  They really seem to be hittin the "final stretch" now!    It's looking great

Hope this transformer gets moved before the opening - it's blocking the stairs.

Has anyone else noticed that both of the stadium's jumbotrons appear to be on the east side. If that is the case, it seems to be a major design flaw. People sitting on the east side of the stadium are going to have to almost turn around backward just to look up at the screens, especially with the screens being setback from the stands. It would make more sense to have the jumbotrons on opposite corners, SE and NW or SW and NE. That way everyone has a vantage point of a screen without jerking their head around. I know the point of seeing a game live is to actually watch the field, but the screens add a major component of the game-day experience.

The one on the south side appears to be more right in the south stands and not right in the corner. That one should work pretty well for people in the East stand

Signage for corporate sponsors are starting to go up over the suites.  Which brings me to this...has there been any talks or rumors of potential naming rights to the stadium?

My guess is that we will find out stadium name within the next 30 days.

Pilot Flying J Truck Stop Stadium?

20 years ago that would be a total joke but considering how many truckers today are immigrants it's really not that much of a stretch.

I thought the same thing, but I don't think the team owner will sponsor himself.

You gotta bring in outside cash.

I think this happens more often than you might realize- see Rocket Mortgage Field House (previously Quicken Loans Arena); I'm guessing there are several more examples, just first one I thought of.

The Dispatch had this update on the new Crew Stadium naming rights they published June 3:

Bezbatchenko: Columbus Crew on track to reveal naming rights partner before stadium opens

From the above linked article:  Minority owner Dr. Pete Edwards told local news station ABC6 on May 18 that the club was in negotiations with as many as five groups but had narrowed down its talks.  It appears the Crew is in the final stages of negotiations now with one month until opening day, and the club might even be in the process of finalizing a deal with the partner.

"We're on track to make an announcement," Bezbatchenko said.  "We're excited about the possibilities we have with our naming partner — potential new naming partner. We are on track, but obviously we want to get everything finalized and make sure the process is done right."

Look like they blew it up…with like a bomb

Looks like just more moisture in the dirt that got turned. But you have to wonder what's in the dirt here since it was an old industrial area.

Looks like the final coating for the roof is underway in the first photo....and the second photo is just amazing.  This place is going to be downright incredible!!!!

On a side note...The Scioto Greenway Project is starting to come into bloom now that it has been finished and had a few years to take full root.  The greenery is starting to become more and more noticeable...truly a transformative project!!

Just wow....the skyline looks incredible against the stadium. When the AD and Astor Park is built out, Columbus is going to have something truly spectacular!!

This has me wondering if this particular spot will be where the team unveils its naming rights partner?  The organization just announced they will be making the decision made to the public, very soon.  We shall see....

I think it would be on the other (long) sides based on these renderings from when they got approval from the Downtown Commission for the various stadium graphics.

Looks like they are getting the smokestack ready to get painted again!

Somebody refresh my memory...what is going in the renovated electrical substation building that the smokestack is on?  Any form or restaurant/bar?  Thanks!

I thought it was being turned into office space.

It is office space for Brad DeHays. It also has an auction house inside I believe.

Quite a bit about the former city power plant buildings has been posted in the Arena District development thread.  The renovation of the original building and the addition goes back to 2014 - before there was a New Crew Stadium/Confluence Village/Astor Park thread:

And below is a rendering showing both the renovated 1903 power plant building and what the 1950 addition will look like once exterior work is completed:

^^ Great to get that update on the renovation of the former Municipal Light Plant.  I expected good things from the original 1903 building.  But I was surprised to see that the interior of the 1950 addition has so much potential.  Below is a rendering included with the update that shows what both parts will look like after renovation work is completed:

I want to know what's planned for the little building along the Olentangy -- talk about a great space for a little bar! It's lifted so high off the river that they could do whatever kayak launch facilities underneath and

Just went to check the progress around the stadium about an hour ago...

All of the newly built roads "behind" the stadium are now open. It was the first time I was able to drive around the entire block back there.

The one thing that really stuck out to me is just how much developable land there is back there, there's a LOT more than I thought there was!

I'm even more excited now to see how Astor Park evolves.

I don't know about any planned uses for it, but it appears on every render of Astor Park, and is there in the plan for the park along the river. It is identified as an abandoned pumping house/station and is apparently owned by the city of Columbus.  I wonder what the are planning for it?

Stadium name announcement tomorrow?

This place is going to be amazing!!!! You get a much better scale of the stadium from the field level. Also, now that everything is being finished up....I actually LOVE the seating.  I think going with black seats would have been toooo dark.  The Grey and White seating gives the stadium some "flare" if you will.  Its really grown on me.

Drove down 670 recently and the stadium lights were on. The light does not shine thru the metal panels as much as I expected. Really hoping they have plans in place to light the exterior of the stadium because it truly disappears in the night once the sun sets. Fingers crossed.
