December 27, 201410 yr Great photos of Southern Illinois. A few years ago I visited friends in nearby Equality, and toured the towns along the Ohio from Cairo up to Cave-in-Rock. A rather forlorn area with wonderful people.
January 29, 201510 yr Were you not able to get inside the "cave"? Cairo is also good urban porn (well, "urban")!
January 31, 201510 yr Were you not able to get inside the "cave"? Cairo is also good urban porn (well, "urban")! Funny thing is I didn't know exactly where the Cave was when I was there and didn't care much about finding it. Of course later I looked at a map and saw how close I was. I should have went, but that's what happens when I go places without researching first. I visited Cairo a few times in the year I lived in SE Missouri. By the time I first visited most of downtown had been demolished and on each visit more and more was gone.
