Hello UrbanOhio!

 

First time posting. I'm here because I moved to Ohio, met up with ColDayMan and invited me to join. A couple weeks ago, he gave me a guided tour of Columbus.

 

I had visited briefly in summer 2013, and I'll post a set from that trip. But for now, we'll walk through the winter wonderland of Ohio's great capital.

He showed me that Cbus has a lot to offer, much of which I hadn't seen. Last time I was in the city, I rode in with a friend I was staying with in Pittsburgh for a few days, who had a business meeting at OSU. So I rode to Cbus, told him to drop me off at the Statehouse and that I'd meet him on campus somewhere.

 

This was July 2013, mid-90s, high humidity. Since I grew up on the Gulf Coast, it felt like any Tuesday in July down there. I'll post that one next. It's a straight walking tour from downtown to OSU, through the Short North. This time, I got to see several parts of the city I didn't get to in ~3 hours of walking, and barely knowing what's what. Thanks to Chris I've seen a lot more. Much of it didn't make the thread here as light was getting short (hooray winter) and being 15 degrees or so didn't help. Good thing now I'm not far away and I'll see it all again.

 

We've also gone into Cincinnati a couple times. When I get walking around with the camera on the streets, I'll have a proper thread. Got some skyline looks so far. That aspect is covered. :)

The first couple years or so I did this working with nothing but a cheapo Nikon Coolpix point-click, and didn't do any post-processing at all.
