Posted March 4, 201510 yr I spent a short amount of time in Oxford after visiting Hamilton. I now wish I had explored a little more, but here is what I got. The Zachariah Price Dewitt Cabin sits just outside of the city. It was built in 1805 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. March 4, 201510 yr Terrific set. I cannot believe I have been gone from Oxford for more than five years now.
March 5, 201510 yr Uptown funky. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
March 5, 201510 yr Eridony, I noted that you captioned the frat house that was being re-built after a fire "Former Phi Gamma Delta" house. Are Figi's gone from campus or did they move to another house? Is this going to be a frat house again once completed or put to another use?
March 5, 201510 yr Eridony, I noted that you captioned the frat house that was being re-built after a fire "Former Phi Gamma Delta" house. Are Figi's gone from campus or did they move to another house? Is this going to be a frat house again once completed or put to another use? I'm not really familiar with the area so maybe OHKID can answer the question better. In another shot I didn't post there was a sign for the house that said "Move In August 15th, 2014" so I think it was becoming apartments. I figured this was just a renovation/restoration and wanted to see what it looked like before so I looked on Google Streetview which showed it in 2013. In the Streetview the entire roof is gone and there is a big arson notice offering a reward for information. I found a couple of news stories about the original fire but nothing more recent. I assume the fraternity found a new home.
March 5, 201510 yr The Fiji's are still on campus but they live in their annex houses. However once the building is completed, they will be moving back in.
March 5, 201510 yr The Fiji's are still on campus but they live in their annex houses. However once the building is completed, they will be moving back in. Yep this would be correct. Fijis (Phi Delta Gammas) are currently in the Sigma Chi house off Sycamore. This is because Sigma Chi was kicked off campus after a number of bizarre offenses, ranging from procuring and distributing hard drugs to hazing to animal cruelty... Basically a basket case. Acacia (the house with the plywood window) is also no longer on campus, although I think this is due only to enrollment, along with Beta Theta Pi and a few others. As for the Fiji house, someone did set it on fire. And being an old wooden house, it burned fast and hot. The arsonist still has not been found...
March 5, 201510 yr Thanks for the info. Are you saying Beta's are no longer on campus? I know a while back they had to re-colonize or something, which I found shocking. When I attended (when dinosaurs roamed the earth) Beta were one of the top frats if not the top. Everybody rushed them and it was very difficult to get.
March 5, 201510 yr Love and Honor <3 Eridony, the shot where you have the sundial/McCracken Hall/Central Quad is one of the most cliche photos of Miami's campus, but wow, yours might be one of the best I've seen, with those flowers in bloom. Betas were one of the top chapters in my day as well (06-10) Htsguy, but they did get kicked off recently for hazing, I think last year. I think they're renting their house out to another chapter.

Thanks! I'm sure many of my photos are cliche, but when I visit someplace for the first time (like this) the most popular views are probably going to be what I find first.
March 6, 201510 yr Haha... I wasn't trying to knock you for taking a cliche shot, I should have said it's one of the most 'common shots.' it's a famous shot for a reason :)
