Posted April 2, 201510 yr So I'm looking at moving in to the Buckeye Building above Flannery's at Prospect/4th. Id be taking over someones lease, thankfully avoiding the 6+ month waiting list. Anyone ever live there or know someone who does/did and have anything to say? I'm mostly looking to hear about how the noise level is specifically at night. Thanks!
April 2, 201510 yr I had a friend that lived on 3rd floor above east 4th. Like anything, living next to trains or whatever, you get used to it. I think the parking situation was a hassle. Having guests over, they had to pay to park all the time. Parking in those old underground downtown garages can be a drag if you're much of a car fanatic

April 2, 201510 yr The noise depends entirely on where your apartment is. Mine was along Euclid above the Corner Alley and there was noise most nights to 2am. And the Healthline buses ringing their bells 24/7 but you eventually get used to it. I found it oddly comforting. You should be fine as long as the bedrooms are away from exterior walls. You still have to worry about loud neighbors but you'll have that problem in any apartment. I don't live there any more but I miss it.
April 2, 201510 yr I lived on the 5th floor in the Buckeye building and loved it. If the windows are closed, the only noise "problems" I ever had were St. Patrick's day bagpipes at Flannery's (awesome) and Indians fireworks (not as awesome). Our windows faced prospect and were right above Flannery's.
April 3, 201510 yr I lived on the 5th floor facing the valet stand for 10 years. Moved out this past Tues. Noise from outside was not usually too bad, occasionally you'd get an obnoxious crowd from HOB concerts, depends who's playing. Not much sound insulation between units or units and the hallway. It can turn into a frat house Fri, Sat nights, at least on the 5th floor. That was more obnoxious than the people outside. Running the HVAC system at night helped. Parking for friends was a PITA! I don't usually entertain, but the last few months I needed to have some people over regularly and it was an issue. Problems aside, I loved living Downtown, and on East 4th St. I miss it already.
