The attraction will slide into Cincinnati on June 20 and Youngstown June 27. Stops are also planned for Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Toledo, though those dates have not yet been announced. http://www.ohio.com/news/break-news/mega-ride-sliding-into-downtown-akron-this-summer-1.581758 "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
April 8, 201510 yr 1,000-foot water slide to take over Cleveland streets this summer http://m.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2015/04/08/1000-foot-water-slide-to-take-over-cleveland-streets-this-summer $15 for one ride? Better be one hell of a ride.
April 8, 201510 yr It's coming to Cincy too. Look up videos of it. It's pretty fantastic. That fee is steep, but really, when else would you ever be able to say you rode a gigantic slip n slide down the middle of a road?
April 8, 201510 yr I think that would be pretty cool, but yeah with a tube rental on top of it, better be a good ride. I vote for W. 9th street from Lakeside down to northwest point of the stadium - that might be 6th, not 9th, but you guys know where I mean.
April 8, 201510 yr That price also gets you a handful of takeaways. I bought a three slide pass for Cincy. $35 for something fun and unique isn't too bad in my mind.
April 9, 201510 yr I think that would be pretty cool, but yeah with a tube rental on top of it, better be a good ride. I vote for W. 9th street from Lakeside down to northwest point of the stadium - that might be 6th, not 9th, but you guys know where I mean. W 3rd?
April 9, 201510 yr ^W3rd and E9th are really the only good options I would imagine. Too bad the Eagle Avenue ramp is gone. How about the Columbus Road hill in Ohio City? "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
April 9, 201510 yr Judging from the video, they won't use a very steep hill. I would suggest either the Detroit-Superior Bridge or the Hope Memorial (Lorian-Carneige) Bridge. They both probably have at least 1000 feet of straight-away incline and no cross-streets to cause major bumps. Public transit is plentiful in the area and so is parking. Plus both would give great views of the city.
April 10, 201510 yr This would never work in Bowling Green. Or pretty much anywhere west of the Firelands...
August 25, 20159 yr I saw a bunch of people in bikinis and swim trunks all over CUF not too long ago, and Jefferson Street (adjacent UC campus) in Cincinnati was closed, so I assumed it was because of this slide.
July 16, 20177 yr The attraction will slide into Cincinnati on June 20 Wow... lol That reminds me of every transit-related headline, explaining that a project was 'derailed.'
