Posted June 25, 20159 yr A few shots from August, 2014. Moundsville is the seat of Marshall County. In 2010 the population was 9,318. The city got its name from the Adena mounds here. Most of the mounds have been destroyed. You'll notice from my pictures they are very proud of their power lines. It was built in 1876 and closed in 1995. It is now open to tours. June 26, 20159 yr wow great variety. main st looks very intact. the warehouse bldg in the first pic is a sharp stunner. and those pizza and ice cream shops lol. the town must have once done good business catering to the prison and visitors. now, what? tourism?
