Posted August 9, 20159 yr Just some shots from one of my favorite drives in Greater Cleveland - mostly Lake Avenue, with a few short detours. Leaving Tremont, with the scenic overlook in the foreground, downtown Cleveland in the distance: Columbus Road, with new townhomes on the left: Downtown from Franklin Avenue: Edgewater Park: Lake Avenue in Edgewater, my old neighborhood: Still on Lake Avenue, now in Lakewood's Gold Coast neighborhood - grand older homes on Lake, with high rise residential in the background on Edgewater Drive: Two of the larger highrises, the Carlyle and Winton Place: One of the toniest areas in Lakewood, Clifton Park: Not all the homes are historic: Following Lake Avenue west into Rocky River where it becomes Lake Road: Made a quick detour to run an errand but back to the Lake via Wagar Road: A slight detour from Lake Road onto Avalon Drive: Okay, back to Lake Road: Now in Bay Village - not large, but charming historic homes: Not too long before the homes start getting big: Most of the homes have a Colonial look, but not all. One of the latest additions to the lakefront stretch of mansions: Our destination, Huntington Beach: Looks like a lighthouse but was actually built as a watertower: Ending it with a photo not from the set above but a separate drive out - from Avon Lake, 15 miles west of Public Square - hope you enjoyed! clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
August 9, 20159 yr Great shot of hidden downtown Lakewood. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
August 9, 20159 yr As a dyed in the wool east-sider, I had no idea you could see the skyline from Bay Village. Let alone see it that well.
August 9, 20159 yr Thanks everyone! Nice--where'd you see the P51 passing by? I actually saw two, they did a flyover by Huntington, not sure why they were there. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
August 9, 20159 yr Thanks everyone! Nice--where'd you see the P51 passing by? I actually saw two, they did a flyover by Huntington, not sure why they were there. I know there is a D-Day reenactment in Conneaut, but that's not until next weekend. Maybe the owners were out for a practice run. If you see him again, flag him down and ask the price to sell. Its on my Powerball win bucket list.... :)
August 10, 20159 yr Most of those homes are beautiful. That newest addition modern mansion, unfortunately, is not. I'm going to check Zillow to see what prices are on those lake view houses. Probably the highest prices in Cleveland.
August 10, 20159 yr The old houses are beautiful. The post-war ones, especially the neo-traditional stuff, not so much (IMHO). Have to say, I'd gladly trade all those houses, even the prettiest ones, for more open views of the lake from the roadway. The early privatization of so much of our lakeshore is a serious bummer.
August 10, 20159 yr Nice job! You took a few snaps in the Edgewater-Gold Coast-Cudell area where I take near-daily 30-minute walks. I keep adding to my photos from those walks, with about 6-12 photos from each walk.
