Just noticed the bricked over windows on the eastern side. Wonder if they’re expecting a new neighbor at what’s currently the steakhouse.

I was thinking the same exact thing.

The renderings always depicted bricked over windows though, so I'm not sure.

I’m sure it’s wishful/optimistic thinking on the developers part but who knows. In the meantime it’s a great place for a billboard or mural.

I imagine those are a way to break up the facade.

On lunch today I grabbed a few photos of the "middle" facade going up. It does appear it's going to be a grid of metallic panels.

Most of these still have the protective coating but you can get a feel for the pattern and see a few where the coating has peeled to reveal the color and finish.

Construction update: Looks like the sidewalk is open, signage is up on the ground and side of the building (weird placement if you ask me),

and the 'canopy' is getting little a green roof.

Below is the view from the Convention Center

Im excited to see what the final product looks like at night -- uplighting on the front should really help make this look top notch.

First Look: Canopy by Hilton

The new Canopy by Hilton, at 77 E. Nationwide Blvd., will feature 167 hotel rooms and two restaurant concepts – one on the ground floor and the other on the 12th.

With a grand opening set for July 30, a recent tour found workers putting the finishing touches on the hotel portion of the building. Slightly more work remains to be done on the top floor, though, where the newest addition to Columbus’ growing roster of rooftop patios is on track to open in a little over a month.

The rooftop bar, named Goodale Station, will be accessible to the public via a dedicated elevator. Executive Chef Tripp Mauldin developed the menu for both the 12th-floor space and ground level restaurant, which will be called Central Market House.

And imagine this view in a few years with the Hilton 2.0 tower and North Market tower in this vantage point....

The rooftop bar opens today.

First Look: Goodale Station

With all of the new rooftop patios (and more still to come) I think we might need to start a picture thread solely for pictures from the various patios. They all have amazing views.
