Posted November 6, 20159 yr So this may be a bit random. The girlfriend and I are going out exploring and will be passing through Dayton. I remember seeing this one area of town a few years back and can't remember what it was called. Would like to go check it out. So here's the story: A friend passed away in 2012. He was from Kettering and after the funeral I was riding in a friend's car to a little get together we had. We passed through a neighborhood with a bunch of new development. I seem to remember that the area was on one of the trolley bus lines. The street we rode on went right through, both sides of the street featuring overhead bus wires. The development (a few restaurants I think) around this area seemed newer. For some reason I seem to remember blue roofs/overhangs on the buildings and a lot of stone decoration. Does this ring a bell to anyone? I may just be remembering things wrong and it's been awhile. Seemed like an interesting area though centered around the trolley busses. If anyone has any idea, it'd be much appreciated. No amount of googling seems to work.
November 7, 20159 yr My guess would be Brown st. by UD. Lots of newish restaurants there and general dev in last 5-7 years.
November 7, 20159 yr Maybe Oakwood? The shops of Oakwood kind of look "new". It's a nice area and near Kettering, and I know the trolley busses go through the city, including the shops area.

You're likely thinking of Brown Street, near the border of Oakwood and Dayton. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Oakwood,+OH/@39.733311,-84.180519,3a,66.8y,57h,82.5t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1smKQ3wSBBMxz_rrAa0e7kfA!2e0!4m2!3m1!1s0x8840842e2da80a27:0xdb3ef72eab9cbbc7 There's also downtown Oakwood that has "newish" buildings but it doesn't really have any blue roofs/overhangings: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Oakwood,+OH/@39.708018,-84.170811,3a,66.8y,26.06h,83.88t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sf60ZhjsB5cGn1OegTgS5sw!2e0!4m2!3m1!1s0x8840842e2da80a27:0xdb3ef72eab9cbbc7 "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
