April 1, 20169 yr Even though the town was dead when I went, it is an impressive skyline for a metropolitan area of 51,000. Mount Vernon (Ohio) has a larger metro/county population! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
April 1, 20169 yr Bartlesville was the historic HQ of the Phillips 66 Petroleum Corp (which merged with Conoco, located in nearby Ponca City, OK). It's a really beautiful place. The terrain on the border between the tall grass prairie and the Osage hills is really cool. It's also that one city in NE Oklahoma that I can't talk shit about because it punches so far above its weight.
April 4, 20169 yr Man, FLW was really prolific! Cool skyscraper-- would love to see the interior. I wonder if ceiling heights are short and it generally feels undersized on the inside, like many of his structures often do.

I wonder if ceiling heights are short and it generally feels undersized on the inside, like many of his structures often do. We grabbed lunch on the top floor of the building. I do not recall the ceilings being low, but the usable floor space on each floor is quite small. You can tell from this typical office floor plan: http://okcmod.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/price-tower-book-dedication-booklet-typical-office-floor-2-floorplan.jpg I am not sure how this was ever a viable building for office space.
April 4, 20169 yr Interesting....it lost a major corporate HQ but is currently at its highest population ever. Sprawl from Tulsa? It's part of the CSA.
April 5, 20169 yr Interesting....it lost a major corporate HQ but is currently at its highest population ever. Sprawl from Tulsa? It's part of the CSA. It's a 45 minute commute, so few people actually do that. It's actually one of the more desirable towns in the region, so people request to transfer. ConocoPhillips has maintained a huge presence.
