It's not summer in Cleveland if I don't get a trip on the Goodtime III at least once. I'd never done a 3pm tour and then one day the forecast was temps in the 60s and low humidity so I figured what better day?

Super-crisp line of demarcation between the sky and the water = low humidity :-)

And we're off - apologies in advance for the gratuitous shots of the new Hilton. What can I say - my website is clevelandskyscrapers.com and it's not often we have a new one to talk about! ;-)

I know the container shipping business is booming at the Port of Cleveland but I don't think I've ever seen this many at one time.

I believe the blank retail space is slated for the Rascal Flatts restaurant - definitely not my cup of tea but hopefully it does well:

And pardon the excess pics from northeast of downtown - part of the reason the humidity was so low was high winds; they went briefly went beyond the breakwall and then turned back due to choppy water during which time guests weren't permitted on the steps between decks. Fortunately I'm not prone to motion sickness  :|

Hope you enjoyed! had a Goodtime!  :-)

Cool!

There's a lot of really interesting vantage points you captured that I never knew existed.

This is my favorite. It sucks that from so many angles, downtown Cleveland looks smaller than it is. Here, you can actually sort of see the true scope of downtown.

Great stuff! Thanks for the then-and-now shots and transit pics!

Wonderful photos. This year will be my ninth in Ohio and this thread just shows the massive transformation in such a short time from 2007. Can't wait for all the new development that is soon to come!

Excellent angles.

I especially liked the shots of the port. God knows why they wanted to move it; I like industry.

The Polsteam Line (the big blue one) was offering passenger cabins to Europe at fares that really tempted me, but I think this year they stopped.  :-(

Remember: It's the Year of the Snake

Nice crisp shots!

Love the shots!    Having grown up out on Lake Erie, it's hard to describe to people how different the city looks from out there, or even on the river.  These do a good job with that!

What is this building? Quay 55?

^^supposedly there are are still quite a few cars littering the bottom outside that building.    Have never dived down there to check myself....
