Posted March 1, 200619 yr So I took the new camera (Minolta Z6) for her first true test-run on the 21st floor of my office building. Gotta say I'm looking forward to warmer weather so I can go to town :-) Tower at Erieview: CSU and University Circle in one shot: Cleveland Clinic (the crane is for the new Heart Center): ... and Case and University Hospitals: The Gehry building, the Garfield Monument: The ill-conceived fortress that is the FBI building: Galleria Galleria! Galleria let me go..... (sorry for the awful pun on 'Bohemian Rhapsody'): Tip of One Cleveland Center: Power plants and Bratenahl - ain't that a kick in the rubber parts? Cuyahoga County Courthouse in the foreground - Lakewood's Gold Coast in the background: The 5 Mile Crib - so named because it is located 5 miles from the Kirtland Water Treatment Plant (not because it's 5 miles offshore): A look south on East Ninth Street: Chisel! These people run the lives of Tiger and Tyra: Nice building - stupid name: Tremont! Grit! Neoclassic and stuff! Look out above!!! clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
March 2, 200619 yr Fabulous! I'm glad you got the new camera, because you sure know what to do with it!
March 2, 200619 yr Well, "zoom, zoom, zooooom." "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
March 2, 200619 yr Great work MayDay! It's been a while since one of your trademark photo threads and it was worth the wait! It's good news for all of us that you have a new toy!
March 2, 200619 yr I disagree with your comment MayDay......the 5/3 bldg. you pictured is both a beautiful bldg. AND a beautiful name.
March 2, 200619 yr ^ Regardless of the name, the signage leaves a little something to be desired after the understated Bank One signage. But I concur, it's a great building (great photo too!)
March 2, 200619 yr If these are the views you have everyday from your office building, I am jealous! Great pictures! I love Cleveland
March 2, 200619 yr Both cleveland and eastlake gritty power plants in the same shot, and you can barely make out perry nuclear power plant in the same shot in the horizion as well.
March 2, 200619 yr While I couldn't see the Perry plant, there sure was a big dyke in that photo! (sing it ZZ Top) "He's got lens. He knows how to use them..." "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
March 2, 200619 yr You have to know what you are looking for to find the perry plant. Literaly its just a pair of slightly elevated pixes in the picture. Arrows sort of point at it in the image I uploaded, but paint mangles the resolution, so you would have to look on the orginal to find them.
March 2, 200619 yr Beautiful -- Thanks MayDay! BTW, does anyone know how I can get my browser to show the full images? It cuts them off at the margin of the thread.
March 2, 200619 yr Hey, you even got a picture of my place in there. If I weren't too lazy, I would take some photos. I have views of the lake, downtown, University Circle from every room in my apartment.
March 2, 200619 yr wow great viewskis. how many megapixels did you use for the shots on that thread mayday? i'll guess 5?
March 2, 200619 yr Beautiful -- Thanks MayDay! BTW, does anyone know how I can get my browser to show the full images? It cuts them off at the margin of the thread. Just increase your screen resolution. You should be at 1024X768 atleast.
March 2, 200619 yr Hey, you even got a picture of my place in there. If I weren't too lazy, I would take some photos. I have views of the lake, downtown, University Circle from every room in my apartment. PARTY AT WIMWARS CRIB!!! :drunk:  :drunk:
March 2, 200619 yr Comically, I've always hated the name Key Bank. It makes me think they just picked some random object and Pen Bank, Sock Bank, or Paperclip Bank would have been acceptable alternatives. Society was much better. Anyway, thats a big Cleveland name, while 5/3, Cincy's claim is disliked by MayDay.
March 5, 200619 yr Great shots MayDay! Nice to see part of Euclid, even if it looks bookended by ugly power plants
September 16, 200915 yr Wow, talk about a resurrection! I no longer use that camera, but glad you like the shots! :-) clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
