Pittsburgh:  Bike Lane Expansion.

Notice how the mainstream media has to turn everything into a battle right from the first sentence.  That doesn't help.

Some reporters believe there is no story without a controversy. When I was getting started in passenger rail advocacy in the 1980s, PD reporter Jim Lawless asked me after I gave my spiel: "But where's the controversy?" I replied that I had yet to encounter any opposition to extending Amtrak's Pennsylvanian to Cleveland. He never wrote the article.

Jealous of the fantastic new bike lanes in my former town of Somerville, MA (inner ring northern suburb of Boston). And the soon-to-open Green Line extensions. And the pedestrian friendly redo of the Powderhouse Rotary (pretty close to where I lived). Now if they could just build way more housing in the area so it wasn’t so ridiculously expensive…

When is the last time I-71 turned a profit?

If you squint, you'd think you were in Amsterdam

Paris? It sounds like New York😠

"PARIS — On a recent afternoon, the Rue de Rivoli looked like this: Cyclists blowing through red lights in two directions. Delivery bike riders fixating on their cellphones. Electric scooters careening across lanes. Jaywalkers and nervous pedestrians scrambling as if in a video game."

This is pretty insane. The conservative and very pro car Ontario government is passing legislation requiring cities to get approval from the province to build bike lanes. And they also discussed reviewing some of Toronto's busiest like Yonge and Bloor. And may make the city conduct reviews on how these bike lanes impact car travel times.

I hope this doesn't give Ohio or other state governments any ideas.
