Why the hell does a fertilizer company need to be centrally located in a city? How many people living in the city need fertilizer so fresh it was made down the street? Seems like the type of business you operate near a highway off ramp somewhere between two cities.

The New York-based chain of clubs is now targeting a 2024 opening for its Columbus location after originally planning to open early this year in the former Via Vecchia Winery, 2108 S. "We had delays with the city in terms of getting our building permit and separation of the other building," Dorf said. Ammonium nitrate is the dangerous/potentially explosive form of fertilizer, it is not the only type of fertilizer. There are other sources of nitrogen, in the NPK (nitrogen-potassium-phosphorus) combo that constitutes most fertilizers. I did the bare minimum and pulled up their website. Looks like they make consumer grade tree/shrub spikes and organic mixes. Anything organic is probably like blood/feather meal or manure and again there are other forms of synthetic nitrogen. Looks like they probably take various NPK and micronutrients, compress it into a spike, and package it. I wouldn't want it to next to my house, but I wouldn't want to live next to any factory. But this area seems pretty industrial, I'd be more worried about the biodiesel facility that's already next door.

May 8, 20232 yr New industrial buildings at former Columbus Castings site will deliver this summer, developer hopes to transform South High Street “The out-of-state developer behind new industrial development on the former Columbus Castings site hope the project does for the south side of Columbus what Rogue Fitness relocating its headquarters did for Milo Grogan. "The way that neighborhood changed, that's what we think this will do for the south side," said Joe Kimener, a CBRE broker working on the Castings project. Construction will finish on the two smaller buildings this summer, Kimener said. The larger building will deliver this fall. Stonemont is seeking single tenants for the buildings, but has the flexibility to make them multi-tenant. Kimener said connectivity to much of Central Ohio makes the site attractive. I think at least for me part of it is that this is dealing with the South side, and so many times they have been screwed over and have had noxious facilities located there. There were even explosions and "fallout" from some plant before. It is easy to go right for the worst when something involves the South side. And yeah, I am glad that South Siders were proactive about this, even though it appears to be a false alarm, and the owner can explain things and it will be ok. *I kind of felt like a schoolkid getting my hands smacked with a ruler or something from 17thState's quote lol.

I don’t disagree, when I hear fertilizer plant(which I’ve been to a few for work) I’m always on high alert. So I personally think you were in the right to question it so the owner would have to answer and ensure that this is a different ballgame. As response to your third paragraph I would invite you to find a light industrial park in UA because they don’t exist.
