September 22, 20168 yr Great tour of a little-known but very interesting small city. The coolest buildings, of course, date to the days when Washington had 26,000 people instead of the current 13,000.
September 22, 20168 yr I went to Washington and Jefferson my freshman year. Seeing these pics brings back a lot of memories.
September 22, 20168 yr Great tour of a little-known but very interesting small city. The coolest buildings, of course, date to the days when Washington had 26,000 people instead of the current 13,000. I was wondering why the downtown looked so much larger than what would be typical for a city of only 13K. Come to think of it, it seems more like what you would see in a place with a population of maybe 40K. http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
September 27, 20168 yr What!?! We must've been in Washington at the same time! I was there for work Wed-Friday of that week to help redesign their transit system. Did you get a chance to drive through the first diverging diamond intersection in Pennsylvania? It opened at the intersection of US-19 and I-70 on Wednesday the 14th. I saw some poor elderly man drive the wrong way down the street with the cops yelling at him. He finally just stopped in the middle of traffic looking all confused allowing the police to walk up to him and get him turned around.
September 27, 20168 yr ^I was actually there the weekend before, so I missed the diverging diamond. Although I did drive one in Tennessee earlier this year.
