In the past two days or so, every time I post on the forum I get an error message saying:

"Unable to load the 'main' template."

If I try to post the same thing again, I'm then told I'm posting a duplicate message. And sure enough, the first posting was published.

Every time I post I see this as well.

However if I go back to the thread I see that my post actually did get saved.

I've seen it as well.

Ditto.

I'm looking into it.  The only thing I've updated in a while was the new Tapatalk update.

I reverted back to an older tapatalk version.  That should fix the errors for now.

Just happened to me.

Error message still appears.

I'm not getting that error message anymore.  Is it okay for everyone else now?

I just got it when I posted.

No more error messages. Thanks!

Anybody getting a pop-over that is saying something about your computer being locked and to call Microsoft?

I got it last Thursday and then again this afternoon. Otherwise I am accessing things OK.

It could be any number of things but it's likely that your computer is infected with spyware/malware of some sort.

I'd be surprised. I'm surfing on Chrome in private mode.

I got that one once too. I can't remember which of the 4 computers I use between home and work I saw it on.

Hey, the two most important options have disappeared from my main forum screen.  I no longer see "new posts" or "threads you're following" or whatever they were called.

Almost every time I post, I'm getting the following error notice (yet my comment gets posted anyway)....

Me too.  What's this all about?

It's an error associated with the tapatalk mod. A new version was released and I reinstalled it. Needless to say, it still gives everyone errors. I will uninstall it again.

For the last couple weeks I've been having some problems with the site loading on my desktop. I'll click on  link to a thread and the site will hang up for a few minutes, frequently giving me an error message saying 'urbanohio.com is not responding' or 'urbanohio.com is not responding due to a long running script' (paraphrasing that last one). In many instances my browser will freeze up completely and I'll have to force it to shut down with task manager. I'm only experiencing this issue on this site. Is anyone else having is problem? I'm trying to figure out if it's the site or a problem on my end.

I'm using IE 11

Edit: I'm trying the safari browser now and it seems to be running much smoother, FWIW.

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I tend to have to log in twice.  My first attempt results in a bad user/pass message and then I do the same thing again and it goes through.  Been happening for years now - a bit irritating but no biggie.

Specifically:

1. Navigate to a thread

2. Enter user name & password on the login form located in the thread

3. Receive error message saying bad user/pass

4. My password manager tries it again immediately and I get another error message saying I have to wait 2 seconds.

5. Wait 2 seconds.

6. Type exact same user/pass in again, this time I'm logged in.

Is any one else having an issue accessing the Main Page? I am currently getting the following message whenever I try:

Sorry, there is a problem

You do not have permission to view this page

Error code: 2T187/3

@Clvlndr in LV  Yes I'm seeing this infrequently.

I've fixed the issue.

Yes I am getting a Main Page but in a different format. It now looks like the forum page or any other thread page for that matter. Is the original "home Page" no longer a thing? Now I'm curious; @MyTwoSense did your issue get fixed in a similar way?

It is the same information but now within the forum software. This is the route I’d like to take the site in now that I have most all the photos transferred over.

Hi @richNcincy, I'm getting an error message that my PM inbox is full even after deleting multiple discussions. Suggestion(s)?

It looks like your premium membership expired and reverted back to a regular user.  Regular users have much lower pm and attachment storage available for use.  I'll increase the limit a bit so you're able to use pm's without signing back up for premium.

Thanks. And I will sign back in for premium.

Hello, @richNcincy

Starting an hour ago, when I click on the UO icon I saved on my phone years ago - the top screenshot -  I’m getting the “page does not exist” screen.

I re-saved the UO icon on my phone and it looks like the “U” in the bottom pic and it works. I’m wondering why my old saved icon is giving me an error message. Thanks.

I’m going to assume it’s because we’re now using the root urbanohio.com vs the old forum.urbanohio.com.  I did add an automatic redirect so I’m not sure why it’s not working. As for the logo not showing in your updated shortcut, I haven’t moved those over yet. I will likely do that tomorrow. Which may require you to save the shortcut again (if you want the logo instead of generic look).
Thanks for letting me know about these though.

Thanks for the info. I’ll save the shortcut again once the logo has been moved over. Thanks for your help on this.

When I try to click on the forum menu option on PC, now it just refreshes the main page. Is anyone else getting that issue?

When I click on the "Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction" forum menu option, it automatically downloads a file, but when I try to open the file it says it can't be opened.  If I click the forum menu again, it asks if I want to download the file again.  This just started today.

I reloaded php 7.3 which is the latest version our forum software can use.  If the issue is not fixed, we'd be forced to update the forum (and lose some of our modifications), and move on to php 8.x.  Which I think would be okay.
