April 17, 20178 yr ^ Interesting. The TGIF brand is it currently stands is about as uncool as you can get.

April 18, 20178 yr Corporate break room? Library reading area? College administrative building coffee bar? I don't see a restaurant there.
April 18, 20178 yr I've managed to never to have visited a tgif. I can't imagine library decor being a hit.

April 18, 20178 yr Well someone doesn't know how to design restaurants...it looks like they hired an architect/designer who does corporate break areas to design this. It's not bad, but it's certainly not a restaurant style. I can't imagine this will be received well.
April 18, 20178 yr Maybe this is a sign that restaurants are finally moving past copying Starbucks and Panera. Even some of the more recent designs for McDonald's and Wendy's look like they're copying Starbucks and Panera.

April 18, 20178 yr They are removing the flair! Hopefully they are putting it all in a big pile and setting it on fire! TGI Fridays former chief executive Nick Shepherd described the restaurant's decor to the Wall Street Journal as "lots of ephemera and bric-a-brac." "It was quirky in the '70s, quaint in the '80s, outdated in the '90s and had grown past its sell-by date in the 2000s," he said.

I was sitting in an IHOP vestibule on a Sunday morning waiting for our named to be called and was wondering, "What if this place could share capacity with a bar that took up the balance of the building? That way the bar has extra space for Friday and Saturday nights while having extra breakfast capacity for weekend mornings?".
