May 3, 20178 yr Author Beer notes: Summit Brew Path called ‘wildly successful’; Breckenridge visit; Kindred expands The Summit Brew Path continues to be on fire. The Akron/Summit Convention and Visitors Bureau, which launched the local brewery trail earlier this year, has handed out 10,000 passports already and just this week got another 10,000 delivered to keep up with demand. “It’s obviously been wildly successful,” said Jim Mahon, vice president of marketing and brand management at the Convention and Visitors Bureau. In a humorous twist, the organization debated whether to produce 2,500 or 5,000 initially because it was worried about having guidebooks left over. Go figure. It decided on 5,000, but immediately had to make another 5,000 because 4,000 were given away in the first two days. August 14, 20195 yr Cuyahoga Falls is really becoming a beer mecca. My favorite brewery in NEO is already Missing Mountain. Ohio Brewing Co. up and running in Cuyahoga Falls (photos, video) Posted Aug 9, 2019 By Marc Bona, cleveland.com CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio - Chris Verich is a well-traveled guy. The owner of Ohio Brewing Co. has had many addresses for his brewery over the years, with the latest being Cuyahoga Falls. "I was happy at Highland Square," he said about his most recent address in Akron, "but I got contacted by Cuyahoga Falls. They wanted us to be a linchpin for economic development." He left Highland Square in late 2017, bought the Cuyahoga Falls location in January 2018, and then oversaw more than a year's worth of construction. He worked with an historical architectural firm and received state historical tax credits for work in the 1917 building. https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2019/08/ohio-brewing-co-up-and-running-in-cuyahoga-falls-photos-video.html
October 2, 20204 yr Does anyone have any information on what is going on with Canton Brewing Company? http://drinkcantonbeer.com/ Their Web site says they were going to reopen yesterday, but their Facebook page still says "temporarily closed" and their listed phone number goes to some other business. I'm more than a little frustrated with them right now because they were the last stamp I needed to complete by Summit Brew Path passport, I finished the rest in July--and now I've managed to lose that passport in the interim three months (or my wife pitched it while cleaning out the car). Could've done them in the same trip with Royal Docks if they'd been open.
