Posted June 5, 20178 yr Hey all, I will be taking the bar exam in July and am currently looking for new study spots. The library gets a bit repetitive and home has become unproductive. Maybe a little coffee shop/restaurant where I could put in my earbuds, have a drink, and get to work. Looking for downtown, Tremont, Ohio City, GS, wherever. As long as the hours are good and the noise reasonable. Thank you!
June 5, 20178 yr I've always liked The Root Cafe in Lakewood. Although, sometimes they have open mic which can get loud.
June 5, 20178 yr Passenger's Café in the CLE Hostel. If it's not too hot/cold, they have the rooftop open to customers with good WIFI as well. Excellent views and a quiet place to study.
June 5, 20178 yr I've worked at pretty much everywhere in those areas. Gypsy was always good because they have big tables and many outlets for computers. You will run into conversational noise, but if you have earbuds in it shouldn't matter. Rising star is not optimal despite the coffee being good. The layout just isn't as conducive, a lot of tables in the middle of the room meaning no outlet access. The tables and chairs are small, too. I've also worked at Phoenix in Ohio city, a lot of foot traffic in there and smaller tables but they are around the perimeter. Civilization is fair. I agree Root Cafe is pretty solid and Pour downtown has big tables with outlet access pretty much everywhere. I loved working at Blackbird in Lakewood, seating should be good during weekdays...weekends get crowded.
June 5, 20178 yr Loop Records in Tremont. Phoenix and Root are great, but those places get crowded and I often feel like I'm taking up valuable space. Upstairs at Loop almost always has open space is more conducive to camping out. I have a harder time concentrating at Gypsy, for some reason.
