My favorite building in town is without a doubt the Walker@Weeks Federal Reserve Building. That 's blocked too!

June 14, 20196 yr Of course The Lumen is the main attraction - but, it has also brought renewed appreciation to its neighbors, particularly the stately Keith Building, as noted by several others above. The Lumen seems to be already changing the feel of the eastern side of downtown - at still only about half of its planned height. Gonna be fun to see its eventual presence in the skyline from various perspectives.
June 14, 20196 yr 17th floor pour this morning.......They are going to be higher than the live camera soon!!
June 14, 20196 yr Drove from UC into downtown tonight down Euclid. This is really starting to have a great impact as you approach from the east! My hovercraft is full of eels
June 15, 20196 yr The Lumen finally starting to peek out in view from my apartment at the Chesterfield Building. Crazy to think this will more than be double the height of the Hanna Building. I'm ready for this crane to jump Thursday! Edited June 15, 20196 yr by misco182

June 15, 20196 yr It appears to be a part of The Sphere's building, and the Union Club website says nothing of tennis courts.

June 17, 20195 yr nice work with all the different angles -- its really getting to be noticeable on the skyline now.
June 17, 20195 yr Another couple angles, its neat to see the innards going in from the ground level Edited June 17, 20195 yr by GISguy

June 20, 20195 yr I realize CSU is on summer break, but damn that looks desolate. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

It's actually a very quite street compared to the double lanes of Chester. Much more pedestrian friendly. And yes I see the Lumen leaking thru.
June 20, 20195 yr It's a very pedestrian-friendly street. All we need now are some pedestrians! ? OK...OK... I'll get back to the Lumen. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
June 20, 20195 yr ^ Although, there is a good amount of pedestrians during the academic year. But, it would be good to have more activity in the summer.

I think that between shows at playhouse, summer events such as Jazz Fest, etc the area is fine. Not really much in the photographed immediate area that caters to a non student population.

June 20, 20195 yr plenty of pedestrians between between Playhouse Square and Public Square that will soon be increasing significantly. The narrow sidewalks (after CSU) will make it look like there are even more.

When I was coming down Euclid (and meant to mention in my original comment), is that hopefully the Lumen continues the growth of population down Euclid past CSU. To think of apartments/housing sprawling down that corridor would be awesome and would provide the bike/ped/bus traffic that would make the area pop, it seems like Midtown is helping with that effort with the buzz going on down that way... PS- Didn't mean to derail the discussion off the Lumen!! Edited June 20, 20195 yr by GISguy

It looks as if the Euclid side of the parking structure (foreground) is sloped as if it will be a ramp but shouldn't that be the ceiling of the first floor retail space?

June 20, 20195 yr ^CSU essentially replaced a concert club and pizza place with decorative lawn just a few years ago, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

June 21, 20195 yr I guess whether you climb, jump, or fly, we all have our own way of gettin' high ? Unfortunately couldn't stick around for too long and they hadn't lifted the new crane sections into place, but it'll be good to see this stand out even more in the next few days. clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
