June 22, 20195 yr And the best Jump of all, in my humble opinion (and this isn't even 2SFH's best song, but it's close).... Edited June 22, 20195 yr by KJP "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
June 22, 20195 yr Some distance shots of the crane jump for perspective from Tremont and Scranton Flats Trail. All solid choices on the 'Jump' songs but I gotta go with my patron saint ? clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
June 24, 20195 yr The crane's now perched above the horizon as seen from the 26th floor of 1111 Superior. Loving it! I'm wondering if they'll need one more small jump toward the end? The height of the crane's crossbar looks really close to (or a hair above) my best guess for Lumen's final height. (Sorry for odd coloring on the pic, sunlight was streaming into our kitchen, where this was taken ...)
June 24, 20195 yr The final height is about double the Halle Hanna building, the building on the right in Paul's picture above. The Lumen is currently on the 17th floor, going to 34 -- it's going to double it's current height. So yes, they probably will have to raise the crane a bit more. Edited June 24, 20195 yr by Foraker Corrected building name -- always confuse the two. Thanks Htsguy!

Foraker I think you mean the Hanna Building
June 24, 20195 yr For what it's worth, there are two crane jumps in the animated construction video, so it looks like the crane will still go higher.

Wait till you see the glitz and glamour of the city lights of Playhouse Square reflected upon these walls at night! It will have a multiplier affect that will only enhance the experience of stardom. A glass tower at this location was a wise choice.

June 26, 20195 yr Some shots from yesterday, including from the CSU student center and the 19th floor of Fenn Tower!
June 26, 20195 yr From those great angles, it's obviously taller than the Hanna now. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
June 27, 20195 yr Some views of The Lumen from yesterday's Indians game. I was really interested in seeing how it was going to look from different parts of the ballpark, so I strolled around the upper deck for a bit. Also got one nice shot encompassing both it and The Beacon!
June 28, 20195 yr ^ ha very cool -- and i was starting to wonder about a ballpark view -- nice to see!

July 2, 20195 yr Been an UrbanOhio lurker for a long time and now decided to join the fun. Here’s a great view of how the Lumen is totally transforming Euclid Ave through Playhouse Square as seen this afternoon. This area will really be something, especially at night with all of the theatre lights, the chandelier, and soon, our glassy new tower?
July 2, 20195 yr It really does extend Euclid Avenue. Remember a few years ago before the Edge was built? That section was a dead zone.

July 3, 20195 yr Does anyone know where the glass curtain walls are being made? There is a shop not far from me that has a number of large crates of blue glass sitting around.....thinking it could be Lumen glass.
July 3, 20195 yr That's not the Bulkley Building. That's the Keith Building. The Bulkley Building is much shorter (eight stories), although it is designed so that you can add more stories on top of it. I’m pretty sure @Terdolph was joking since we’ve given him such a hard time about the “covering the BP Building comment” over on the NuCLEus thread. Especially since he has said that the Keith building is one of his favorites. And doesn’t the view in that picture have the Lumen blocking what would have previously been a (not particularly impressive) view of the Bulkley Building? When is the last time I-71 turned a profit?

July 5, 20195 yr It's not as bad as Superior east of Public Square, but still not good. A friend from Chicago who grew up in Lakewood has often remarked at how quiet Euclid Avenue is. So has my Ukrainian wife who reminds me that the main street in her native city of 200,000 people is far busier than Euclid. But I'm taking this thread off topic. My apologies.
