The fact that it's even being built is amazing. Better to build something bright and reflective vs another drab brown or beige building. The days of the industrial valley soot and smoke turning all of the downtown buildings black are over.

Just the fact another apartment tower is rising is amazing. With more to come?

Here's a shot from Tuesday from the 26th floor of 1111 Superior ... amazing how different it appears without the crane. I keep doing double takes, lol.

Any chance this building will be topped off by Oct 15?

I love the way the Hilton 'disappears'; it's a feature not a bug.  Lumen may be able to manage the disappearing act as well except for the white stripes. .

The Klingons with their cloaking device were on board with this one.

The jump has started!

It's so tall ?

For non construction crane aficionados, is the bottom of the crane is where the roof tops out at?

Theres 5 more floors plus mechanicals on top

No. It tops out about half way between where the top floor is now and the top of the crane.

That's significantly higher.

Love it!

Great pic @MayDay ... much better view than what was happening INSIDE the park. ?

My shot from the game last night.

Are the white strips only on one side of the building?

Yes

Maybe they plan to have uplighting at night?

Would dig that, not sure if it would affect the tenants though

I just can't understand why they would only have the east-facing side with the verticle strips unless, it being at the gateway to Playhouse Square and consistent with its name, they intend to incorporate a nightime light feature.

I know a million people keep posting pictures of this, but I walked by today and couldn't help myself. It looks too good.

Passing by the Lumen last night I noticed the first couple floors have rooms framed out with drywall.

Can't post enough of these.  From another one of CLE's sea of parking lots...

THAT is awesome!  Safety standards have obviously changed a bit.

The lower floors of the Keith building look blackened -- is that just from the facade not yet having been applied or was there a fire early on?

So they figured out how to keep the sidewalk open in 1921 but we can't figure it out in 2019 lol.

Similar to what is being done with the May Co., nightime uplighting on those white vertical panels would look amazing!

What's the point of uplighting a reflective glass tower?

"white vertical panels"

Refraction vs reflection vs diffraction.

Miami and Vegas are the tackiest places in America.  Why are we looking at them as standards for what we should want here?

I'm no longer a Cleveland resident but was born/raised there and as my birthplace, I wish the best for my hometown and it's residents.  That being said, I currently live in Miami and it is far from being tacky. I only hope that Cleveland can develop as impressive a skyline with dozens of cranes in the air.

If Cleveland gets an influx of illegal, or foreign and/or dirty money it too can have a skyline like Miami.

but when it all crashes there will be no bank bailouts, federal bailouts, if they are hit will extreme weather there will be no FEMA to save them. If you will agree to that then I say go for it. Build all you want. Let the buyer beware. Matter of fact we should run an ad inviting known criminals to live and operate out of Miami. (oh I forgot that is Miami today.)

They do and have for decades, but then again, the county administrator's and mayor's family members appear to know something about that there too.

He's not far off. We've had Ukrainian oligarchs (from Florida) here and we're also now getting some Israeli and Russian investors snooping around as well.

Whaddya say we get back to Lumen....

WOW.  What a cool view that is going to be... jealous!  That perspective makes the 9 (AT) Tower look huge.

Thanks for the video, Murray Hill - the Lumen really extends the downtown cityscape along Euclid.  Can’t wait to see it top out!

Here’s one from Saturday. The Keith (and the Hanna) just look great in those reflections. The only thing that would look better would be the reflection of a new Blue Line train running down a no-through-traffic East17th section of a completed Waterfront Loop. Dreamers can dream.

Is this currently the tallest building under construction in ohio?

Yes, I believe it is.

Not to get too off-topic, but here's a comparison chart I made recently that is fairly accurate (could be missing some) and provides some insights about skyscraper development.

Looking at this chart, it's surprising (although becoming less and less surprising) how seemingly far ahead development-wise Cleveland is out of the 3 Cs in Ohio. Sure NuCLEus is stalled (hopefully not for good),  but from what a few posters on this forum have been hinting at, there could be even more announcements on the horizon, hence the Unknown towers listed below. It feels to me like we are far ahead of the game in Ohio. And The Lumen and Beacon projects is a great example of our momentum. SHW would be the greatest icing on the cake.

Important note: Unless I missed something crucial, Cincinnati has no current developments/proposals whatsoever reaching 300 ft or higher. A little unfortunate.
