That's a different location @tastybunns. The one that @mov2Ohio posted is southwest of downtown based on the alignment of Terminal Tower and 200 Public Square.

If i had to guess his spot is right on Schaff Rd/Hinkley Pkwy in my hood of Old Brooklyn ? actually on the lot where homeland security wants to put their new office thing.

Here's a shot from Tuesday from the 26th floor of 1111 Superior ... amazing how different it appears without the crane. I keep doing double takes, lol.

Go on to Google Earth, draw a line from 200 Public Square through Terminal Tower and you'll see from what direction the photo was taken. And see the parked Holland trucks? There's a Holland truck terminal across Memphis Avenue from the old American Greetings HQ.

Here's another view of The Lumen as viewed from a Lakewood rooftop patio outside of a penthouse condo I just bought, will renovate/update and flip...

You bought a Penthouse?

Well aren't you fancy!

Well we're movin on up,
To the West side.
To a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin on up
To the West side.
We finally got a piece of the pie.

Fish don't fry in the kitchen;
Beans don't burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin'
Just to get up that hill.
Now we're up in the big leagues
Gettin' our turn at bat.
As long as we live, it's you and me baby
There ain't nothin wrong with that.

This. Another corporate citizen is consolidating offices there. They're not leaving Downtown though!

Sort of. It's the smallest condo in the building with just 750 +/- square feet, not including its partially covered outdoor patio. After renovations, I'll list it for $80K. The monthly cost will be a lot less than the Lumen's penthouse!

Pretty cool. It's interesting to see the crane tower "vibrate" in the wind.

Kudos to Gilbane. They don't mess around!

Cool time lapse. on average, how many weeks does it take to build one floor, with a concrete pour and all before building the next one? I remember seeing a show once where they were building one floor per week for some skyscraper, but I think it was show-worthy as that was more accelerated than normal.

They can do a floor in 4-5 work days.  It’s amazing watching the efficiency.  And they “window” a floor in 4 days

^^^^The last pick is one of my favorite skyline shot's I can remember seeing. IT maxes the best of what downtown it has to offer (no gaps and showing most of the buildings). Love that location and forget about edgewater park location. The only benefit at that location is showing the lake with the skyline. I do like the "close up" shot going west from Fenn and CSU towers but again from long distance I love that location.

Actually, it's close to one of Mayday's best photography sites imo. It captures the entire skyline in great detail.

Yep. Consolidating back office ops from Beachwood and Strongsville there.

Curious.  How many UOians are seriously interested in living at this address?  How many would actually be in a position to move in the first three months after opening?

^We have our names down to be contacted when leasing starts and fully intend to move into a 2 or 3 bedroom unit.

If there were for-sale units, I would be interested. But I'm not interested in paying money in rent anymore as I had done that for years.

How big is the waiting list?  I'm assuming there is a big demand for new build rentals in PHS.

I feel the same way.  I would love to invest in a unit or two in condo/coop building.  With all the conversions, I hope to see condo/coop developments in Downtown neighborhoods, UC, SS, OC, DS and AsiaTown.

Not sure......I guess its more of a "waiting for it to be finished" list. lol.  BUt I did sign up on the website as interested in apartment once its done

LMAO!

^ There was a tv interview with Art Falco a couple of weeks ago. IIRC he stated that there were about 350-400 people who had signed up to be contacted about leasing. I remember it as it was a number just slightly larger than the number of units. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean all those people intend to move in.

If you get the opportunity to move to the lumen, will you be moving in from another Downtown Complex?

Thus a lateral movement for downtown apartments.

We are moving back next June.  We certainly intend to move into a 2 or 3 bedroom unit.

We already live in PHS, for us it’s the one, possibly only, downtown neighborhood we’d want to live in. For sure, we’d prefer to buy but are OK renting too. We may take a hard look at the Geis condo Tower when that gets more firm.

Hey, if renting at least you don't have to fix things when they break down or worry about it all the time.

One gets a good sense of the size of Public Square from the skyline gap it provides.

Yes, the May Company building isn't quite tall enough to fill it in.

I'm about 95% sure that photo by @MayDay was taken from the top of the DoubleTree on Rockside.

lol I know it's a different angle, but can we give me the benefit of the doubt on the distance and the amount of skyline captured ?

Does anybody know what the current floor count is? Also, I wonder how long it will be before another Lumen type high-rise will be built at playhouse square. It seems like the Lumen will fill up very quickly!

Thanks @KJP I had forgotten about your article regarding this.  From what we have heard so far from Art Falco it seems there is plenty of interest in the Lumen.  It will be interesting to see how much of that translates to actual leases.  Hopefully it will lead quickly to development on 13th and Chester.  It would be great if that was the next area of focus.  It would also be great if the lot in between the Allerton and the Sterling Building could be considered as well... its a huge eyesore.

I think the growth going north of the Lumen is the next big step in getting rid of surface lots. 13th and Chester, the one you mention, and the Greyhound lot are the next three. This will lead to more retail around there hopefully also.

They may have this building mostly enclosed before the bad weather hits which is impressive. I'm sure that's their goal.

Playhouse Square Rocks!

^^^^ They are glassing in a floor about every 4 days,  18 floors are glassed.  so it should take about a little more then 2 more months to finish the glass

Looking at the cam back to the beginning of August, they've averaged a floor of glass a week.

Considering the winds in November, maybe they should install glass from the top-down  ?

I think they should learn from the Edmund Fitzgerald as the Early November winds sent her a rattlin'

I believe that developer that leased the East 13 & Chester parking lot next to Greyhound Station from the CITY several years ago will be required to build a new residential building there pretty soon because of the 5 year limit the City gave them!

EDIT:

The developer which is the Shaia family's Victory Properties, Inc.

leased the East 13 & Chester Avenue parking lot next to Greyhound Station from the CITY back in 2016.  And they will be required to build a new residential building there in 2020-21 because of the 5 year time limit the City gave them!

Looks like we're getting close to the final height.  The impact of this building can't be overstated.  And again, I'd love to see 10 more of these downtown ?
