ok, the courthouse. one ought to scream say it ain't so when the story is told of the piece of junk they have now. once upon a time they had a good one. now its something off the highway far away from where it should be too. but downtown lebanon is very impressive. which makes the corthouse thing more confusing. maybe i put to much into the courthouse things.

but don't expect a photo of it in here.(the reason for my 54 1/2 county seats done thing)

Eh...it's an okay city.

why not fix your clocks?

Maybe they're trying to make time stand still.

Lebanon is also the home of the Turtle Creek Valley Railroad, a tourist train ride. It goes from Mason to Lebanon.

Oh man, I remember when I was younger my grandparents took me and my siblings camping in this area, and when we went into town my grandpa had to go into EVERY antique store while my grandma had to browse though EVERY craft shop... us young-uns were bored to tears.

Didn't George Washington eat at the Golden Lamb?

George Washington? No.

Garfield, McKinley, Adams, Harrison, Harding, Taft, Harrison, Grant, VanBuren, Hayes, Reagan, and Bush II

and a bank.

I worked in this building for two summers while in college.  Impressive from the outside, but kinda bland on on the inside.

Lebanon is a "cute" town, but I find the people there to be very snoobish.  It is suffering from sprawl as well.

That makes me think of "Save the clock tower!" from Back to the Future!

Nice photos. I enjoyed them.  I may check out that antique shopping and eat a filet on a weekend.

^ If you're into antiques, you might want to check out nearby Waynesville.  It's entire downtown is pretty much antique shops from what I hear.

It probably has more antiques but the downtown isn't nearly as nice as downtown Lebanon.

What makes Waynesville interesting is that it is built on a fairly steep slope...

I like the fact that you took the pictures at dusk. I haven't seen that very often in the forum.

The former quarters of the Orient Fire Company of Lebanon.  This beautiful building was constructed in 1879 and is located on Mulberry Street at Chillicothe Street just a couple of blocks east of the business district.

Fire company name carved into the stone over the doorways of the station.

Lebanon is a great town! Thanks for sharing.
