Rumors have been either TQL or P&G for a while. It wouldn't surprise me if P&G rumors were around because of their big sponsorship of MLS writ large, and TQL will be the sponsor of the West End Stadium.

True and the photo of them testing the letter T on the building a week or 2 ago lends some support to the rumor too.

Twitter Reports are TQL has secured naming rights. As a matter of fact tqlstadium.com directs to the West End Stadium website so the reports seems credible we shall see if confirmed by team. I’m still skeptical about these rumors, domains/websites are purchased all the time in anticipation for things that never come to fruition

Update: tqlstadium.com is now not working, so someone disconnected its link to the official stadium site. Interesting.

FC Cincinnati's new home in the West End has a name: TQL Stadium.

The announcement came Wednesday from the soccer club and Total Quality Logistics that TQL, based in Clermont County, bought the naming rights to the stadium.

TQL Stadium is set to open May 1, with a ribbon-cutting and some team practices there. The first home match against Inter Miami is scheduled for May 16.

For the Win

Planning to keep calling it West End Stadium. I mean.....TQL Stadium doesn't really trip off the tongue does it?

For the time being, I'll probably keep calling it West End Stadium. Not out of any principle, but it just sounds better. I'll see in a year or so what I call it.

I'm surprised it didn't keep West End in the name, TQL West End Stadium would've still worked. Any initial nickname ideas? TQL could be pronounced 'tickle' if it was an indie rock band for instance.

TQL is fine with me, I’m just happy we didn’t get a weird and laughable name like “KFC Yum Center” in Louisville

I must say FC Cincy from the beginning have done a masterful job getting big sponser deals, including the “Mercy Health” Kit sponsor deal which was one of the leagues largest as well. Plus they have a giant season ticket base of over 15,000 this upcoming season along with all premium seating sold out since last summer. Right now this franchise is definitely one of if not the healthiest financially in MLS regardless of the play on the field so far.

I was confused by this because it looked so realistic, but I just walked around the stadium and there is no signage up yet. This is just a photoshop/rendering.

This isn't exactly related to FCC, but does anyone know if Sam Adams is going to fill in the corner here? They built the loading dock facing the other direction, leaving this CMU wall and an empty spot right at the corner. I can't imagine they're done here but I also haven't seen a rendering or site plan of the final product.

Sam Adams is painting that CMU wall (a rather ugly color, imho), and they've installed some kind of generators. I don't know what else is planned for that corner lot... but if the rest of this project is any indication, it will be ugly.  Really quite unfortunate considering what a high profile intersection this is.

It doesn't hurt that Cincinnati is historically way ahead of the curve with the embrace of soccer. I remember a Sports Illustrated story in the 80s that talked about New York, Cincinnati, and St. Louis being the biggest soccer cities in the country (by a wide margin), simply because of youth soccer participation.  This is something Cincinnati was destined for, and likely the reason St. Louis was squeezed in, almost under the radar.

I'm calling it Tickle Stadium from henceforth.

Boston Beer doesn't own those parcels, so I guess they couldn't get the Kenkel family (Tri-State Wholesale) to sell. The same family also owns the corner parcels at NEC Central Ave and West Liberty.

This weekend is the Ribbon Cutting for TQL Stadium. Media and Season ticket holders along with invited WestEnd Residents can tour the facility. We are also finally going to see photos and videos of the finished amazing interior (Clubs, Suites, Teams spaces and more) also the team earlier today started notifying select season ticket members that will be able to attend the home opener. This stadium is best in class PERIOD.

A couple new pics I just came across and Woooooow the interiors are definitely premium, the team and it’s architect went all in, the color palette and materials look spectacular. I hear the team store which will be the biggest in the league is super as well. Can’t wait for video and photos this weekend. The MLS commissioner is coming Friday.

The three stadiums opening in MLS this season have really raised the bar on soccer-specific stadiums. I'm hoping to check out Crew Stadium this year as well.

Why do I feel like this is part of some long game for Samuel Adams to move their flagship taproom?

Edited by Chas Wiederhold

The MLS Commissioner just did an interview and said Cincinnati’s stadium feels PERFECT, looks spectacular and remarkable. He did a 2+ hour tour today and will be spending the night in the city for the ribbon cutting tomorrow. Can’t wait for tomorrow!

Do you think that Cincinnati police will ever sell their current headquarters to Fc?

My guess is not any time soon. Police headquarters are expensive and Cincinnati does not have money for one and most likely won’t for quite some time.

Um didn’t the city just get 200 million and are still gathering public input on how to spend it?

I could see FC buying the HQ for a pretty penny if they really want that land. That could help get a new HQ jump started then maybe a small amount ~5-10million could be kicked in from that fund (I don’t know if a new HQ is necessary and if using money towards that would really be beneficial , but could be nice to take the place of a downtown parking lot.)

District 5 needs a permanent location first. If any stimulus funds are used for police facilities, it will be that one.

I can see them buying the police HQ too but the south side may take a long while to get to tho. With the team doing a first phase on the north side + a new police HQ having to be built first after any purchase deal is reached I would guess 5 years or more. As a side note the focus of any spending needs to be on making the team on the field competitive because they are looking a hot mess but my gut tells me they are going to turn it around.

A few more from the ribbon cutting, still some work to do in the stadium. High praise all weekend including the commissioner saying TQL Stadium “is one of the great soccer stadiums anywhere in the world.” it’s clear this venue will be MLS’s flagship for many years to come.

I hadn’t seen this elsewhere but the First  Financial Gate signage is up.

Just a masterplan so who knows what it will ultimately look like.  It will be a mix of office, hotel, apartments and a renovation of the 1930’s Burger Brewing Company’s Barrel Storage building into offices and a restaurant. I'm guessing the green space north of the garage is left that way since they don't own all the land just north of that area.  If they get ahold of it I'm sure this master plan would be expanded. image.png.e0bb44a0ae7ba55e456592938135cfad.png

Turning the beer cellars into a restaurant space was always ruomored.

Remnants of the Brewing house still exist along with the subterranean Beer Cellar Vaults. The concept is to open up these vaults and turn them into a restaurant and brewery, with vast skylights and monumental stairs leading down into the space. The Barrell Storage Building added by the Burger Brewing company in the 1930’s would be converted to office and a restaurant.

Looks very interesting. I would love if they could keep the beer cellars and some of the Tristate building as well like they are showing. Would be a super unique space.

Wow!

As one of those haters... I'll believe it when I see it. But this proposal is a promising start.  Hopefully the Central Pkwy diet goes the way we want as well to help compliment the surge of people that will be walking from the east side of the Pkwy to this development.

This picture emphasizes the importance of the road diet... what is the point of a grand staircase if people have to cross this monstrosity to get there?

While I agree that Central Pkwy needs a diet, after attending games at Real Salt Lake and crossing State Street for every match I have to laugh at any Cincinnati street called a monstrosity

I think people here forget what other cities are like sometimes...even our worse streets are nothing compared to some other major cities.

looking at the plans more it looks like they want to create a mini banks by the stadium.

My main concern is that fcc will create an island for fans and will sort of separate themselves from otr and west end.

I hope not and I don’t think they will, it would be foolish and bad for business. OTR is an attraction they need to embrace it not separate it self from it. The whole downtown/OTR /west end needs to be somewhat cohesive not different planets otherwise one or more of the areas are much more likely to struggle over time. Also a few extra pics I’ve seen of the stunning stadium.

I think they want to expand on Otr and not create a new banks.
this site was selected because of OTR. The way the grand staircase opens to the East side shows the desire to connect with OTR and the existing neighborhood. Plus the fact the streetcar stop is a block away it adds connectivity to the neighborhood. It would be different t if the stadium was surrounded by a sea of parking and garages encouraging people to come and immediately go. I do not get that sense here
